Installed a kill switch, toggle switch rated for 25 amps
basically splice the switch with 12g wire, into this wire (yellow and green)
switch and wires
crimped in
all interior back in
and my wastegate is on its way

Woah nice build man! I wish I could put some more hours into my Sol, but it's my only DD right now so anything I do has to be a weekend thing
If I can find a cheap beater than I can start performing surgery on my Sol
Anyway nice build, I cant wait to see what numbers your putting down.

Re: my turbo del sol build thread and other stuff - with lots o pics
thanks guys!
small update:
-changed and gapped sparksplugs to 0.030" - BKR7ES v power
-clocked turbo and installed wastegate
-some vacuum lines
-made a vacuum reservoir thing
-made oil drain line
a lot of thing are waiting on something small like the socket for the oil sensor..
clocked turbo
waste gate with 8 psi spring
oil pan off and putting some new nuts n bolts on
oil drain
boost and oil pressure gauges. I wanted the nordskog digital ones but i cant find thier boost gauge anywhere
not installed yet
3rd pod will be for a/f when I buy one. for now ill just put a dimmer for the gauge lights
green thing is the oil pressure sender for the oil feeds (15/16" socket)
T for pressure gauge, oil feed and stock pressure sender
vac manifold with bov, waste gate, and boost gauge so far
waste gate
vacuum reservoir i made. its so i can use the vacuum source more before its depleted, I pretty much wont ever be able to use up my brake pressure either
and yay full trunk interior
tomorows update will be shifter bushings, oil pan back on, and oil lines set up, and hopefully gauges all done

Re: my turbo del sol build thread and other stuff - with lots o pics
yay I bought an apexi ws2 exhaust on craigslist for dirt cheap
only problem is its for en eg hatch. closest one that will fit though, seeing how they never made any for del sol. IIRC I just have to cut out a 5" section of the straight pipe
ES shifter bushing front:
I had to sand it down a little to fit, they were 3mm over sized..
and back one, so much rust
and oil pressure lines are done
and engine bay after and before

gauges all installed
painted the a-pillars with SEM vinyle color coat, looks like its from the factory
ran the lines through a hole I drilled just above the clutch pedal, nice and short
connecting power to gauges from the dimmer switch
finally got the damn drain line on! its like 3 inches long
socketed the ecu, and put a zif socket in
and a base map from phearable.net
and a gm 3 bar map sensor for more booooost

Re: my turbo del sol build thread and other stuff - with lots o pics
and some exhaust work, apexi ws2 full exhaust off a eg hatch, they never made on for a sol. its 2.39" which is too contristive for 300 whp so Im going to get a 3" electric cut out for my 3" downpipe. I'll wire it up to the full throttle switch and to a manual over ride switch that I'll install in my dash, buts thats not till winter.
top exhaust is stock and bottom is the apexi
6" was needed to be cut out from just after the S bend
damn that looks good
The only things left are the manual boost controller and to reweld my downpipe. Im splitting a welder with some one but if that takes to long I'll just cut up the downpipe and take it to a machinist to weld it up. then heat wrap it and I'll be good to go. should be started within 2 weeks!

Re: my turbo del sol build thread and other stuff - with lots o pics
just minor free stuff like detail cleaning it and small cosmetics modifications. since I cant drive it the winter, I decided to invest my money else where. but come march/april when all the snow melts then Ill pour money back into this and finish it up as soon as parts arrive
my plan of now is to buy a wideband, ostrich pack and data cables so I can street tune it myself. then ill get it dyno tuned over in Buffalo. I still need a lot more research on tuning.

Yea I had to go to another city to find it lol. There's a sweet junk yard out in Buffalo that recycles and crushes their cars about every 2 weeks, but there's only about 10 hondas at a time. and its dirt cheap I bought a 5sp p06 ecu for $18 plus tax.

nice. wish we had a yard like that. i have one i go to that stuff is cheap, but they dont recycle that often and everything is always sooo picked over cuz they have 2 different businesses and the pull it yourself part just gets the left overs from the main business that basically rapes people

Re: my turbo del sol build thread and other stuff - with lots o pics
I actually had time between work and school today got some stuff done. It feels good to work on her again even though it was 40 and over cast
cut grill out
new black couplers because red did not match
I hooked up some extra wind shield sprayers to a valve on the stock sprayer line. So I can choose between my wind shield washers to work or these ones that should cool the intake temp alot. ethonal = evaporates fast and sucks up a lot of heat
bumper back on again
I have a whole week off in 2 weeks so Im definitely getting her on the road then

Re: my turbo del sol build thread and other stuff - with lots o pics
update:
got her running and the engine is broken in perfectly, she idles perfectly with no cels, and all cylinders are within 3psi of each other
I just have 2 fix the oil feed for the oil pressure gauge because its leaking real bad, I think I over tightened it and cracked the brass. Im loving the apexi exhaust with the turbo and a straight pipe, its seems quieter than modern cars. I should be getting her professionally tuned this week or next after I fix that oil leak.
anyways pics
apexi exhaust all installed
LC-1 mounted
bought a new ecu from H and M motors, it looks and works beautifully
my chip along with a free basemap I got with the ecu. Its for a bone stock h22, which Ill save for my next swap
a Detonation detector to detect... detonation
ready to be broken in N/A
wiring up the DB gauge
installed
first start up

Re: my turbo del sol build thread and other stuff - with lots o pics
thanks guys
shes running really well, doesnt burn a drop of oil or coolant, though theres a small oil leak on the oil pan still. I tuned it as best as I could but I still want to get a professional tune which will include a dyno graph sheet so I can see the real power
I got hit with a $500 school bill , theres goes my tuning money.. But at least I graduate in a week and and its summer! Im just gonna sell the moates, osterich and lc1 and that should make up all the money since I dont need them anymore
anyways updates:
-installed xtravision headlights, they do light up the road noticeably better
-installed a fully braided clutch line so I can fit a filter on the inlet of the turbo
-fixed a leak i had in the roof and a trickle leak in the trunk whcih made everything in my trunk damp
-
clutch line from bnr fittings
great quality and a new bleeder valve
and the rot above the driver side
not much I could do since I dont have a welder. I just sanded it down and painted it, then fixed the leak that caused the water to pool there
I should be getting it professional tuned in 2-3 weeks. Until then I have a few inexpensive things to do until then:
-looping the lines on power steering to convert to manual steering
-broadway rear view mirror
-still on the hunt for smaller wheels but everything is way over priced here
-reupholster the targa top

Re: my turbo del sol build thread and other stuff - with lots o pics
I finally got around to fixing all the typical del sol leaks Iv had: the two in the targa and the trunk leak, my car is finally leak free!
to fix the trunk leak theres 2 white clips under the back sails that let water leak under them. just replace them and seal them up. no leaks so far
as for the targa leaks I resealed them and tightened the roof down.If you need more then you can also tighten the windows more to the weather striping by taking the panels off
to lube them up I used this stuff, just wear a glove, spread it around, let it sit for a few hours and wipe it off
yay! you can see the seal it makes when they swell up
to tighten the targa buy 10 washer to fit a 12mm bolt, I used these
take off the paneling to reach the targa top pin holders: 3 up front on each side and 2 in the back on each side
tighten them down while the roof is in place so they line up
and I made a sweet new cup holder from one that I found. I melted the bracket into shape with a lighter
it works perfect it holds tight and doesnt spill at all
and to celebrate the fixed seals I washed and waxed her!
and random photoshop pic
