well i picked up a 90 crx dx today... man it's a PIECE! any ways it's a parts car. exterior is SHOT, but interior is ok. i'm going to get the seats reupholstered and do a seat pan swap on them and then the dash is going in my hatch as well. came on 3 15's and one 13 (the 4th 15 had cords showing) so now i have wheels to use to roll my hatch around on again. going to use the steering wheel on the pumpkin, as well as the coil overs/maybe front suspension. brakes might be a yes too (or atleast the misc. parts). going to keep the pedals too... ummmmmmm headliner is in pretty good condition. once it get the car taken apart i'm going to post up a forsale thread.

Hey so I looked around and didnt find a definate answer on the using a hatchback core support. So i posted a question in the tech section. When we go to you aunts house to work on the pumpkin, why dont we just make a weekend of it and stay there and work on the cars the whole weekend broski? If we find someone willing to buy the beer ill buy some! hehe

yeah i wish, i can't get weekends off. Not unless i ask for them off WAY in advance. week days sure, but not weekends. i'll start working on getting the pumpkin's engine harness converted, that way all i'll have to do is swap over 4 wires @ the ecu. then it's just a grip of work to get it back together.

well all in all i didn't get too much done on my ef today at all. however, i did go to the j/y, and ended up getting all the plugs i need to convert my car to obd1 (the 4 wire 02 sensor, vtec plug, ecu plugs, and i traded a skunk 2 test pipe to apekd for the dizzy conversion plugs he makes.

o/t, i insalled a set of fog lights, a bug sheild, and a new rear wiper onto my van today. used a relay setup from a headlight harness i had layin around to make it so i don't over load something.

pulled the dash out of my crx yesterday, haven't gotten it cleaned up or anything yet, that'll be tomorrow's project. should be good to go tho once it's all clean. i picked up an EG sedan armrest the other day, fits almost perfectly w the crx dash. theres maybe 3" of space between the back of the dash and the front of the arm rest. bolts right in.

so a quick apology to any one who's been keepin an eye on this build thread - i now am going to school part time, and am working 6 days a week at two different centers to get full time pay, so half the time when i get home i'm just too darn tired to do any work on the civic. that's why my updates are so sparse and uneventful.

I installed my crx dash today. stock climate control fits perfectly, only thing i had to modify was the cig. lighter plug... crx has a 4 pin one for a small light in the ash tray and around the cig. plug, and the civic didn't. so i de pinned the crx plug and the civic plug and swapped them, just left the light wires chillin.

wtb!! an ash tray for a crx. preferably a blue one.

also test fitted how my eg sedan arm rest thingy fits. i like it alot! lol i just need a small bit of carpet or something to cover up the space in between.

I got the first of three obd1 plugs prepped for making my obd0 to obd1 conversion harness (a home made, better version of rywires imo). time consuming indeed, but worth saving 200bux plus shipping.

small update: my ecu conversion harness is about... meh halfway done. i still have to solder all of the wires from connector "D" of the obd1 harness to the plug's on the obd0 section. here's how it looks so far:

All done labeling:

the "A" plug is all soldered up:

B is done too:

I ran out of solder and time to finish C tonight, that will happen tomorrow night. I still have to de pin all the wires that aren't supposed to be used, and run bits of wire for the 4wire o2 sensor and vtec solenoid and vtec oil pressure sensor.

Well i got the ecu harness almost done, i just gotta finish removing a couple wires, then will have to run three wires to the engine bay (two for vtec, one for o2).

since my iron was still hot, i figured i'd make apekd happy and use solder and heat shrink instead of butt connectors to re attach an oem radio plug to the dash harness on my DX. it's almost done, just gotta finish 4 wires up.

Hey what did i tell you? butt connectors are the devils hands at work, they break fast and they waste cash. soldering is easy, and if you mess up, you just heat it back up and put the two apart. try THAT with a srimp connector! Now i gotta work on that CRX harness for the rradio plug. Forgot about that one
