Default Fixing up the EK

Well, three saturdays ago I blew my motor comming back from tampa. I was playing with my friend Joey on the highway (Mazda Speed 3), and I shifted into 3rd instead of 5th :birdies: . The motor is not really blown, but all the valves on cylinder 2 and 3 are bend, so I'm going to pull the motor, and decided to do a wire tuck and shave the engine bay at the same time. Then I started thinking some more and decided to respray the whole car, and paint the floor board and trunk to match (the car was red before). Also a couple of years ago I got side swiped, and the shop that I took it to did a crappy job so I'll be fixing that, and also taking out all the dents.

This is how the 1/4 panel looked when if got side swiped

And this is how the 1/4 panel looked after if was fixed

It was a realy bad job, the bondo cracked not long after, and not to mention the asholes didn't even pulled out the dent. They just filled the hole dam thing with bondo.

And the body work begins.

Saturday #1 05/24/08
Took care off all the other little dents, but the 1/4 panel was going to take us too long, so we left it for next saturday.

Saturday #2 05/31/08
We just did the 1/4 panels and a dent on the door, because it was my birthday, and I really didn't wanted to spend it working on the car.

I took some bondo off with a screw driver just to see, but at some point, it had up to a 1 inch thicknes. Lets put it like this, before the back wheel well was flush with the tire, and now there is a gap, so I need to adjust the coilover.

Took all the bondo off and pulled it as much as we could. We still needed to use some bondo in some parts, but it was kept to a minimun.

After that it got primered.

I'm hoping to do some more work on it this Saturday.

Ok, so I've been slacking on the car lately.

Here is a pic of the finished quarter panel, primered and ready for paint. Dont crack on the wheels, they are not staying. lol

So I took the engine out, and realized something. My [freak]ing engine bay is hurt. I took the fuse box, and a couple of other things out as well.

So I started taking the interior out for paint, and also for the wire tuck. I also took all the AC stuff out.

I extended all the wires on the passenger side, and ran them through the side.

A couple of minutes later, it started rainning, and all the damn mosquitoes came out, so I called a night. all covered up and ready for bed.

Hopefully I don't get lazzy next weekend, and actually do something.

Ok, so its been a little over 3 months since I did anything to the car, but now the works resumes.

I didnt really do anything to it this weeked, just moved it to my friends house (aka the shop..lol)

and just for fun and giggles, I put his jdm front over my car just to take a pic, but dont worry...I dont like front end conversions.

The hard work begins this week. We are going to fill, shave, and primer the engine bay, and finish the wire tuck.

oK guys, so here is the work up to now.

Most of the extra holes have weld spots, and are grinded down. I feel like a lazzy *** because I didnt do any of this myself. Everything was done by two of my friends. lol

I'll be there early tomorrow morning to keep on going.

BTW sorry for the crappy cell pics. I will have my camera tomorrow.

Tomorrow we are stripping all the paint, filling, and primer.
