Default Finally... KraziCivicSi's EF Build Thread

I have finally reached a point in time where I think I am stable enough (physically, mentally, and finacially) to do a build thread thats decent and update-able on the regular. Enough with the mushy stuff... Enjoy

History

(picture taken 2005)
Meet Sasha... My 1991 Civic Si. Stock motor, d.i.y vtec head swap(y8), boltons, Tein suspension, Old school Fittipaldi 2pc wheels (r.i.p...sniff). Nice, and clean if you ask me...

Motor finally took a dump on me when the odo hit 218,xxx at the top of 4th gear one summer night. (2006)

Sat some money aside and started building a mild b16...

to Greg @ Autoworks for lending a helping hand to a friend in need...

Got the wiring done (so i thought) and the guy that did it for me screwed the wiring up, not only that, but i think he screwed with my motor while it was in his shop... the head bolts backed out on me...

Finally got to a point in life where i was stable, nice 8-5 office job (where i am currently sitting to get this thread started) and time on my hands on the weekends, figured id try to clean up what was screwed up. I parted out the b16 and picked up a b18.

Got the motor bolted up and at that time it was time to tackle the wiring that was obliterated...

This is what my ecu plugs looked like before i got started trying to clean them up...

done...

Now the car would power up, but there was no juice to the ecu, we tried everything we could. Gafford and i found out (he found out...i observed) that there was a serious ground issue... which brings us to where we are today...(keep in mind that this has taken place over about a year and a half... the ls install was about 3 weeks ago)

PRESENT

~DONOR CAR~

~SASHA~

OK... the reason the doors are red is because i had to get replacement doors... ive got the si doors to put on in place of these (well, i WILL have both once i get the driver door from greg and steven )

the hatch was replaced because i didnt want the wiper, so instead of filling the hole, i picked up this hatch for 30 bucks... (so if you want a hatch with a wiper hole, throw me a price)

** I know the car is an eyesore right now compared to what it used to be...

(picture as of 11-07)

...so just bear with me, im just trying to get the girl running...

Last night we got the old engine harness and the fugly dash harness out of the car.

After work today we are pulling the harness out of the donor car (props Ben)

Thanks for tuning in. As you can see this wont be a walk in the park...

Thanks for your support guys.

Good stuff, glad to see you're doing it the right way.

P.S. God kills a kitten every time somebody puts Altezzas on their car.

lmao!! funny you should say that because my friends cat died like 3 days ago...(not funny, but you get the drift)

no but those altezzas were tho only replacements i had at the time. but as you can see... those si tails on the donor car will feel right at home when i put them on...

**just so you guys know... i may seem like a bit of a post ***** between the hrs of 8am-6pm (central) because im at work and im in and out of h-t the whole time.**

Only differencet between your car and the donor car(by looks) is the shiney black paint. I am sure you are not going to leave yours flat black forever...<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Glen Tennis &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I like the donor car better</TD></TR></TABLE>
So !
Looks like a nice start.

Left my USB cable on my computer at work, but we did get the harness out of my donor hatch. Tomorrow we will prep my car to get ready for the new harness.

**The headlight wires were the only thing cut on the harness (the side of impact was crammed between the frame and the fender, so we had to cut those)**

Tomorrow will Be prepping the car for an easy install/fitment of the harness and matching up the headlight wires and sodering them together... i didnt want any cut wires but i can deal with the headlight stuff being sodered together. We're taking friday off on the car... Ill post pics tomorrow when i get to work.. not many to look at... Got a few video clips for entertaining purposes...

Goodnight...

it was your fault!!! tellin will to not do something is like giving a ricer cut springs... you tell him not to do it, but you know he will, so you just sit back and wait for the outcome, and you cant do anything but shake your head in laughter...
