From faded DD to... not faded DD. lol
Ok so this isnt as much a build thread as a build post. lol. as I've already done most of my "build". although i will be adding more as she's not quite fast enough for me yet.
Anyway, I'll start with my car before.. the "junker" I drove for four years.
you cant tell but although she's not too faded, the clear is all gone.
never liked cursive writing on a car..
the old F22A1.. not bad.. but not good either especially being auto
after 4 years of trying to prevent the fading... obviously it didnt work. lol
---
So i decided to paint... well I didn't paint, but i did do all the sanding.
and sanding
and taping..
but it was all worth it!
you'll see some color variations due to lighting/ crappy camera etc. but the above pic is closest to the color it really is. its a super dark red in real life.
new wheels too. and tint
---
Then of course less than a month after painting.. the ol F motor had a catastrophic failure. at first it sucked.. but then it turned out to be good when i found out i could afford a real powerplant.
The Swap...
thats just heartless...
out with the old USDM F22 and auto..
and in with the new JDM H22A and matching 5spd
---
And here's how she sits now:
with the Si front lip too!
snow day! and i removed the center caps. i like it better this way.
color is off due to cell phone crap cam
jdm one piece headlights
hr]
no badge anymore. and new borla muffler!
Also a manual swap wouldn't be complete without the shift **** and boot!
its the same black w/ red numbers as the boot.. just looks purple on phone..
stock height for now.
this sticker is awesome but its big and idk if i want it on my window or not...
---
And of course the mod list:
Appearance:
-repaint factory red
-Si front lip
-Boyd's wheels from the 80's
-5% tint all around
Performance/Sound:
-JDM H22A 197hp and 163 lbs of torqueness (thats +62hp and +21lb-ft over the old motor)
-Off the shelf Autozone intake w/ 3" pipe and 4" cone filter
-Borla 2.25 single in/dual out muffler (no high pitched rice for me! )
