If it's the standard model tranny than it should have the smaller axles and hubs already making it a bolt up for the HF tranny unless the old axles were used to fit the stock DX hubs. VX wheels are the best, had a set on my now sold 91 hatch, you can litterally throw those things with tires on with 2 fingers, amazingly lighter than even the 13 inch steelies. That intake is probably worse for gas mileage for you. The stock intake should of had a little tube that goes by the radiator that should help suck in warmer air. If your going for gas mileage warmer air will work better, those cold air intake will lessen the gas mileage.

I'm not meaning to go off-topic in this thread, but do you care to elaborate on that? I'm curious is all and I don't know a lot about the topic. I thought cooler air made it easier on the engine...

To be on-topic: your car looks great and I love the momo steering wheel!

I have had three setups.

stock box-
shor ram with K&N-
cold air with K&N-

The best mileage and midrange feel came with the short ram setup.

Thanks! I like it. Just need to figure out tires. I put back on the steelies (yuck). The HX wheel have BALD 185/60/14's. What do you folks suggest I run? Brand and size wise?

As far as the airbox goes, I am gonna get a stock one and see what happens.

What is the maximum width you can run on the hx wheels?

If you are wanting to stay with the size you have now, i've found a few selections on vulcantire.com where I get my tires at. The yokohama avs es100 which i've been told is a good tire, and also the falken ziex which one of my close friends uses and he loves the tire, its moderately priced at $39.00 a tire and offers good all-around performance for the money.

Excellent! Not looking for crazy tires or anything. Just something that will keep me on the road, last a while, and deal with the Seattle rain.

well now... you are in luck to be in seattle. I am and EFaholic and I know all the good places to get used parts. I can get you a tach, I can also get you the full rear disc swap (integra DA), and I live in tacoma. I have my own EF project in the works, its covered in moss and pollen right now though so no pics... dont shy away from the agxs... they arent bad shocks, but everone seems to go with tokico blues, I had them and they were pretty nice. I have decided that for me personally since I will be autocrossing my car I am gonna go with full coilovers, leaning towards omni powers, will try them and see how good they do and how long they last autocrossing. FOR TIRES, keep the same size or go with 195-60-14s for a little wider meat and to avoid curbing. Falkens ziexs are a good budget friendly tire that will give plenty of grip and but handle well in the rain but are also forgiving and wont break loose in unforseen circumstances (in otherwords good all around tire), kumho has good tires for the money too (similarly minded to the falkens but maybe a little cheaper) and they make some pretty nice race tires at half the cost of pirellis, etc. Discount tires has some good prices on them... at least they used to... been a while. Later bro, good luck.

Wow. Thanks for lowering the car. I need to get on that. The ziex's should be here next week.

Zuum, you have IM. Lemme know when we can GTG and I can get that stuff from you.

There was a guy on here who I was talking to before vacation about a cluster, but I can't remember his SN.

A new pic I am fond of. HX Wheels will be going back on once the tires get here.

As Dax stated earlier GasSaver.Org is a great source for info. if you are concerned with mileage.

I'm hoping to swap an HF tranny into my 88 CRX.

Nice looking hatch.

I got my tires mounted and balanced this weekend. I also painted the center caps. I think they look pretty damn good. The tires did really well in the 41st rainiest city in the country this weekend. I also washed the windows! Woo hooo!

What do yall think?
