EF9 Built and Boosted
nice project you got going there, making good progress so far
question though: why shell out cash for a new ITR valve cover when you could have easily painted your already stripped B16 valve cover and gotten the same thing for a few bucks worth of materials?

here's how i did mine:
-strip the old paint using a paint stripper available at your local hardware store
-sand the VC's rough surfaces lightly using #200 grit sand paper. be extra carefull not to go deeply on the "almost smooth surfaces" as it transitions the surface quality.
-next, sand using #600 grit getting all surfaces even
-next, wet sand. but this time, use #1000-1200 grit till all surfaces are even and almost as smooth as silk, lol
- go get yourself an electric drill with your favorite buffing cloth along with some rubbing compound and take your time polishing till you see your face as if it's a mirror, lol
couple of my friends love it and wanted to buy my VC. instead, i taught them the way to do it for free

some pics i thought i'd share

as you notice the pics' date stamps, it took me time to finish the thing. most of the time i got frustrated 'coz i feel it's gonna take forever! LOL i just took my time and do what i can whenever i get some of my time free... patience!
