The USB port connected to Hondata just blew my mind
Can't believe I never thought of this versus just having my ecu laying on the passenger side floor lol. Nice work

Re: EF5 4g 4wd 4dr
So it's been a busy few weeks, but heaps has happened. I took the EF down to Sydney for WTAC and caught up with a bunch of mates along the way. I racked up about 2500kms in the EF and learned a whole lot (of things that i need to fix still haha).
I left sunny Queensland in the morning and cruised down to the half way point (Tamworth) where I met up with my mates Cam and Aaron:
We grabbed a feed that night and head off the next day, meeting up with a few more people along the way:
Such a cool lineup of cars to cruise with.
We got to Sydney and checked in to the accommodation. That night there was a few mates getting together which i didn't want to miss out on:
Dodgy midnight phone pic, but still worth a post. I don't think i've ever seen that many 'jdm' front end EF's together in one place before haha. The next day i'd asked a couple of the boys to meet up for a photoshoot before heading to the event. We met up at Rams place:
Pretty amazing sight. All the sedans above are boosted and RT4wd haha, biggest RT4wd sedan meet ever? All the cars looked so sick together. Then we rolled out to find a quiet street to get some shots together:
There's still so many more pics to go through, but these were my favs. Will & Ram, i'll send you the pics once i've gone through them all.
After that, I went to WTAC which i didn't take any pics at haha. But later met up with Tim for dinner and to talk ****. I grabbed this pic with his DOHC ZC ED:
.
The next morning I had to get up super early to bump in to the show and shine. I met up with Emilija and we cruised in together. Her ED is clean AF and super unassuming. It's got a crazy b16 turbo making big power, not that you'd know it by how it looks:
We parked up, next to Ram and luckily the rain held out for most of the day:
Congrats to both of them winning best JDM (ram) and wildest mod (Em), Hondas cleaning up the awards, really cool for some oldschool cars getting the appreciation they deserve. There's so much effort put into these projects, and yet they sometimes get overlooked when there's something new slammed on wheels parked next to it.
After the show i grabbed a few more shots with Ram and Em, and then later joined by Cam again in the NSX.
Left for home the next day, and got thrown the keys to this for a bit, such a dream to drive:
and i'm going to finish on this pic, because i think it's epic:

Re: EF5 4g 4wd 4dr
Cleaned the car for the first time last weekend and took a better shot of the din slot that i 3D printed. Feels weird having a complete interior again haha.
Also had an annoying little bit of play in my steering that took me a while to figure out what the problem was. I just ignored it originally because i was changing racks, but when it didn't go away i was pretty pissed haha. Anyway, turns out the uni joints on the steering column weren't tight enough. Even though they had been torqued to factory specs, they needed to be nipped up a little more to hold the spline snug.
Super happy with how it feels now!

The speedhunter photos were shmick!
Interesting with how the factory torque spec wasn't tight enough, unless motor related i never used torque specs, just my arm spec lol.. wondering if my uni joint is loose as well from all the track abuse

It's possible. I used the torque specs because they're quite a small bolt head, and i really didn't want to shear the head because it's in such a c*nty spot haha.

Re: EF5 4g 4wd 4dr
Was hoping to hit a new page by now, so sorry for all the pics.
Went to a car show last weekend which i haven't taken my car too for about 6 years haha. Met up with another mate who's been building his car at the same time as me all these years and this was the first time we'd gotten them together. The show was a big turnout and i even won an award which i was stoked with. Afterwards we snapped some pics:

Damn, haven't updated this in a while. a few months back me and a mate road tripped down south to help a mate with B swapping his ED:
The drive went smooth, and it gave me a chance to put some k's on my custom center bearings that i've started making and selling to replace the clapped out originals.
Washing the 8 hours of bug death off the fronts haha:
Hows this for a cool Honda lineup haha:
That night we rolled out to meet up with a few more mates:
The GTR had just been detailed and it was just flawless.
If you've been following this thread for a while you'll remember that 86.
Next day, putting in some werk:
And that was pretty much it. Snapped this on the way home:

Yessir! Sedan is still around, it's just been sitting for a while. Went to fire it up after sitting for 6 months and the fuel pump took a few hits before itd kick on. Definitely need to actually drive the thing more often... i've been enjoying the wagon too much lol:
