defnu's build.
(giant sigh).....wow, so many problems came by and went yet still a few linger and sneak it's way back in.
here's how it went down.
although, my rev limiter was at 5000rpms, i figured i'd at least test the idling temperature to see if it woul dover heat. allowing it to idle at a stand still for 30 minutes, the temperature needle jumps at about 29 minute 3/4 of the way towards hot. i did notice the hose to it was not getting any coolant.
in this motor, i've already replace the thermostat with one from honda. even though it was new, buying a faulty one isn't uncommon. with me being on a budget, i decided to get one from autozone. i slap it on and forgot to test it until sunday.
SUNDAY COMES (the 14th), i thought i'd drive my car to roseville even with a rev limiter at 5000 (i know, i'm so impatient.) i really wanted to make this one because it was a good friends last CAli meet.
....
anyways, as i drove down to the gas station, the temperature shoots up all the way! i notice there was no leaks but the fluid was lower in the radiator. so i fill it up again and constantly releived pressure in pressure releif bolt.
i ended up pulling over less than half a mile away and pulling the thermostat out.
the temperature on the street was at normal operating temperture but on the freeway, it drops.
on the way to roseville, i noticed that between 4000 rpms to 4100ish rpms, the motor has a hard time getting over it unless i gunned it from lower rpms all the way to 5000ish.
the exhaust leak made me sound like an open header'd harley on the freeway
here's mine, derricks and hector's at Lollicup's Summer Meet. (rushed photo, please excuse) meet was nice. although there could've been more interaction from whomever started the meet. RUSTED HOOD! lol, future spare.

SOOOOOOOooo, annoyed as i was, we checked out what was up yesterday with vtecnician's ecu.
to get it to run as smooth as it does NOW (best it's ever ran but still kinda crappy) we figured out that we needed to slap on a fatter FPR, MOD the TPS (pics below), and created a block off plate for the EGR. we wired up the speed sensor and gues what? VTAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCC!!!!!!
here's my tps mod to calibrate it at .5 at fully closed. i think i had to do this because of my Erick's Racing throttle body.

still, it's not where i want it to be but it's been getting better and better. here's a few more whoring pics...

gloss smoke shifer plate, extended OURY's grips (guaranteed not to blister your hands and soft as gum!) were the little things i was working on. excuse the crooked Honda block off plate and unmounted duoble din Legend tape/cd deck.
