Default Clean and Simple DC2 build

UPDATE pg.3
UPDATE pg.2

The history... this is my 3 honda, already had a crx and 05 DC5-S (yea i know who goes from DC5 to DC2) .... after i sold my DC5 last august i was looking for cars, made a couple of trips with no luck.. while at college in my dorm room one night on cars.com i found the car and called the number and left a message... i couldn't believe someone had a stock single owner 97 gsr with 86k on it for $4500...... he called back and i told him i wanted the car after hearing all the info on the car... i then sent him a $500 paypal deposit... i picked up the car 9 days later in CT after i took the bus home from college, from a normal middle aged guy, said he leased the car in 97 brand new from a California dealer, then bought it and moved to Chicago and then onto CT where i bought it off him beacause he picked up a new S4...

It came all stock except for this oem carbon fiber **** that was pretty terrible (he still had the oem leather one in the glove box), and nothing else.... the owner had every oil change receipt and all service records....

these were the cars.com pics

when i got there the paint felt like it hadn't been waxed in years, it had no name tires on it and the "small dent in the hood" was more like a ax chop, but hey it ran great, felt solid and was $4500...

i drove the car home, checked the oil and checked the car over.... i then washed and waxed it, got in my moms car and took the bus back to college...

the car sat in the bottom of my drive way till i came home again about 5 weeks later but it still sat unregistered till November... as soon i started driving the car i realized how bad the tires really were so i picked up some Nitto Neo Gens and threw them on at my friends dads shop...

after winter break i put the car back to sleep untill school got out in may...

First mod Suspension....

Buddy Club N+ coil overs with omni front camber arms and rear camber kit

these pics were of it slammed fresh off the lift

we raised it up a little bit but not much... i took it home got it alligned and waxed it

then a couple weeks later in july it was time for some performance

i picked up a generic 2.5 cold air
RMF replica header from vteckidd
T1R test pipe
T1R 63 cat back exhaust

after that i went through all the maintenance

timing belt
water pump
thermostat
plugs and wires
cap and rotor

i also put brand new ceramic pads and new rotors on all 4 corners

then twords the end of this summer it was time to take car of a little exterior work

Seibon Oem style hood
97 type r lip
F&R honda badges
20% tint

interior remained stock except for a new ****
i also raised the car up since those other pics, a little less than 1/2 an inch
and it just rolled over 90k a couple days ago

and im currently back at school driving it about a 3 miles a week....

ill be honest.. the paint is ruff.... i have clay'd and buffed it... its just on its way out the door, i just keep it looking respectable till i can paint it MR with a jdm front in about a year or so...

also idk really.... i was thinking about boosting it or an all motor set up to keep it dd status... im unsure

well i put the header test pipe and exhaust all on at the same time.... (they are all designed to fit a Type R so thats the way u have to do it without making custom pieces..) so yes going from cold air only to i/h/tp/e was a night and day diff...

so far the car has beat my friends 99 si with i/h/e, and 2 new civic si's one with i/e and the other with just an intake.... also lost by about 5 cars to my friends 08 s2k with a cold air

yea.. after building my DC5 i realized its best to just pay through the nose the first time for the part you want so you don have to upgrade and buy something better later...
