Just height no damping. They're great though. Bouncy but handle great.

Stay tuned for an update tonight hopefully.

UPDATE: Finally the Recaro SR3 Leman seats were delivered to my house. Picked up a set of genuine Recaro EK9 factory brackets and sliders and then installed them. Very happy with them much cleaner than I expected. The rails sit me kind of high though but I'm sure I will get used to it.

Next up have hood painted and new front bumper and lip then I will finish assembling the motor.

UPDATE: So I have been having a hard time turning the crank on the block by hand especially after sitting over night. Seems like I was getting a slight bind so I decided to tear the engine apart again.

I measured all the clearances on the rods and they checked out at .0012 .0012 .0018 and .0012

Then I remembered that when switching main caps from a different block, which I did, that it is required to have the mains align honed or bored.

Now I need to remove the crank and have that done along with having the crank and mains measured so I can get the correct bearings. There was already some wear on the brand new main bearings on cap 2,3,4 which is not good at all. Hopefully it will be align honed or bored this next week if the machine shop is open.

UPDATE: Disassembled the block and it is now over at Main Machine in Concord. When measured with a dial bore I am having 0.002" of an inch tight up and down, which is definitely part of the reason why I am having such tight clearances on the mains. The block and caps will be align honed and hopefully restored to a circle. After this the block can go back together and I will get to work on the rest the engine including the head.

Got the block back from Main Machine from being align honed. Went ahead and plastigaged the main oil clearances and they came out within spec now. All between 0.0015-0.0017 which is all within Honda's range and much better than what I was getting before. The block should be completely back together by the end of the weekend.

When removing the pistons I accidentally dropped one and cracked it on the skirt, so I bought a new one and had it pressed on. Everything is ready to go back together tomorrow.

Installed rear main cap and three of the pistons but got some bad news on the piston number 3. As I was trying to push it in after being compressed with the ring compressor one of the rings broke. Pretty frustrated with this thing now but will order the new rings and hopefully install later this week.

UPDATE: Got the last piston in and new water pump installed this morning. Wanted to double check clearances on the rods. They were .0012 .0018 .0018 .0012. Also noticed it becomes a little harder to turn when piston 1 & 4 get to the top. Now that I look at the specs in my manuel it is 0.0013-0.002 for rod clearance. I ordered thinner bearings for them to try to get them closer to rod 2 & 3. After that, the block should be ready to go back together completely.

Man, seems like your engine hates you haha. Good job nonetheless. Like how your hitting a lot of set backs, but your still going forward. I'll be following this.

^Thanks man. No matter what I'm going to get this motor built, installed and tuned by summer.

So today I got the block completely assembled. From my observation it looks like the oil seal on the oil pump folded a little bit. I'm going to have a friend look at it and tell me what he thinks. Don't want to install everything and have it start leaking right away.

Had my friend help me press in the seal correctly and now the block is completely done minus the water pipe on the back and also need an obd2 alternator. Picked up an ARC flat titanium shift **** from him as well.

More bad luck. My front end is really messed up now after an accident with a utility truck. Partly my fault and no damage done to his truck so I didn't report it. My passenger side fender is done and the passenger side mirror destroyed as well. There were scuffs down the entire passenger side but i was able to buff those out. Not too worried about it since I had already picked up a new front bumper with authentic CTR grill and lip last November on N1 Concepts Black Wedsneday sale. Plan is to pick up a few parts to repare the front end but not paint until begining of summer. I need to finish the engine build first. I started the build last April and I want the motor to go in by this summer.
