Autopilot EF9 update
yup...
forgive me i am just reminiscenting about the time when he showed me that he chromed the support bar for his dash (also hold up the steering rack) and i laughed my *** off cause who the hell does that sort of thing especially to a honda. He was laughing as well cause it was hella funny that he had a extra 40 bucks in his pocket and figured what the hell...why not.
as time went on, i found him chroming a lot of ****. i mean, the stuff you wont even see, like brackets behind the door panels, the support frame for the center console, and even the gasoline pipe going to the gas tank.
moral of the story is, now i know he's laughing at me cause ive been doing the exact same thing to my misc parts. and if you knew randy, he just did stuff out of the ordinary that any normal human being wouldn't do and that was the type of guy he was. He really did things to make a difference and I find myself trying to be more like him all the time. I guess you can say, he was my hero.

I thought it was crazy when I looked at him looking for all clear taillights b/c I had this idea to find some once to just make a Honda like it would've been done in the 90's.
I'm kinda goin that route right now, with some modern twist. I hope you guys with the support of friends and donations can make that car amazing. Heck, he already did the crazy hard original work.
I think a lot of people on here wish they had just a tad of his originality to go and chrome all those parts and use all those fancy fasteners.
Good luck.

It was funny how we related to all the chrome and polished parts! LOL! Everyone bagged on me for bringing my lowrider influence into my CRX with all the chrome that is on it...Randy was understanding
He knew about style and how everyone had their own influences. I could have saved a ton of $$ by not chroming and plating half the parts I did...but, there was one man who understood......
I will be dedicating my rebuild of the rex in Randy's memory.

well, i got a chance to work on randy's ef9 today. damn it was hot today. Also, i can't even describe the feeling of working in his garage without randy there. its just unbelievable right now. its very different
at any rate, most of the day, i spent contemplating what i was going to do with the hydro clutch cylinder cause he kind of left it "half ***". We also all know a slave cylinder is not suppose to be there and the spot he put it in couldn't have been worse but it has to go there. I wondered how clean i can possibly make it and i decided I want to make it like it was meant to be there and it required a lot of welding and patience and its still not done. enjoy the progress pics. thanks!
here it is: before. there are no after shots yet cause well, i didn't get a chance to finish it yet

touching up some welds on the shock tower

h-t user vincent dazed and confused. GET MORE SLEEP!!!!! easier said than done at this time

the "chalky ef"

had to do something special for my homie

thanks for looking!
