Default 1sicls build thread: DA integra

My plans so far will be boosted mild built ls. Suspension, redo all interior, and mod stock body some. I will post as i go along. But i am a college student with limited funds, My completion date will be at the most a month and a half from now. I go to school most of the time.

Here is how the car came, two gs rims, and two steal rims. It needs a shift linkage(the bushing gone). Some ebay coilovers, camber kit in front, and tan interior.

The car came with tan interior so i will be dying it all black, with rit dye and sem paint. So far here's whats ben done.
the ugly tan.

the black after

But here is a pic of trunk carpet. done (dont mind the spots its my camera lens need to clean it.)

How Iv always done plastic welding is, On the out side face use some masking tape to hold it in the correct place. Then on the inside face take a low wattage soldering iron and melt it so it joins together.
Then pull the tape off the outside face and use lots of glue to seal up any gaps and make it stronger.
Then on the inside face put some duct tape over the melted joints just to give it bit more strength.
And finally a light sand to remove excess glue before painting.

Next on the list is motor pull then mild tuck and shave. then paint.

Engine will be stock block with probe pistons, stock rods, micro polished crank, port and polished ls head then t3/t4 turbo kit, ys1 trans with stage 3 clutch.
Still undecided about suspension i need a good price with good performance.

Did you weld the holes on the hatch or just cover it with bondo? If you just used bondo then prepare yourself for it to crack and fall out eventually.

if your not gunna half *** anything id suggest that you go and buy a black interior cause all them plastic plannels that you painted are gunna be all scratched up and look like crap after a few months the problem with painting the pannels is that if theyve been treated with armoral ther pretty much junk went u go to paint them the paint is nvr gunna adhear properly plus that rattle can **** isnt gunna help. Buy a black interior

I just picked up a 91 DA blk with tan interior. haha... also cant stand a tan interior and was going to dye the carpets. I pick up a black interior(most parts that are tan and rear seats was missing fronts) and goin to convert the interior to black.
Good luck on your project.

The panels should be fine, as long as you prepped it right, sand down and de-greased it with Acetone or something of that nature. Rust-Oleum sells a plastic primer that would help stabilize the paint.
