wow, i REALLY appreciate you comments :-) im all smiles right now. on the steering wheel i cut off the leather because it was all boogered up and disgusting, i plan to recover the outer ring in black suede, im kind of a germaphobe lol, and i dont mind at all if you take the wrinkle coat idea on the tranny, im in the process of building a second tranny for the car and that will be sanblasted and powdercoated candy-clear. gsr ys1 with synchro-tech carbon coated hardened brass synchros, new oem bearings, new sliders, new seals, full throttle shifts at 9k here i come!

update, polished wheel number 2 today, 2 down/2 to go. cant WAIT to get the centers powdercoated.

gonna be this same candy-purple to match the hoses

How long did it take you to polish each wheel? One of the wheels i just got has curb rash and i'm gonna fix it but i was thinking i might want to clean up all four lips when i pull the wheels apart.

it took me about 4 hours between tear down/dismount/acid cleaning/sanding/buffing/hand polish/sealer for each wheel, plus i need to get the centers powder coated and what not, and either thread chase and polish each bolt or do an ultrasonic cleaning on them. so needless to say it takes some time, but this stuff has always been a labor of love for me.
