Default V2V

Hello why checking V2V have to set the valve lash to 0.00? I had skunk2 H22A Pro 2 Cams. it said peak life at 100* ATDC does that peak life at Vtec lobe or normal one?

Would life be lift? I am just guessing here, but when either IN or EX cam are at max. life(lift) the other is closed. Figure out the 4 strokes and cam numbers for timing, it allways pays when you figure it out for yourself. Here is question 2 , does max. cam lift have anything to do with valve to piston clearance?

Hi there do you know what not set it as 0.007" on IN and 0.008" EX valve lash to check the valve cleanance? why they put it on 0.00 valve lash. Why is that? I don't understand.

Because when the engine gets to temp that lash zero's out. Besides, the closer you set it the more leave-way you have. If you don't have the engine already assembled, don't use a head gasket when checking P2V clearance.

Hi thanks for your info, and why not fit head gasket when checking it? Is it because when it's hot the piston will close to the head? Or for something else?

Thanks a lot very helpful.

The thought of not using a gasket when checking p2v is to give you a little extra "leave-way" so you have a little more room for "user-error"

You are actually just checking V-V at .0000 lash. The ACTUAL reason is that is where the cam specs are set at. Duration @ .o50 is set at .0000 clearance. Plus with a GED and you find V-P clearance at .000 valve adj. is .050 you would add .007 x 1.55 and figure you are @ .0655. Just math.
