Ugrading my fuel pump why not injectors while I'm at it?
I was told the last time I tuned that my stock GSR injectors are pretty much maxed out on my set up. So I've been running on this set up for a while and am thinking when i re build my head (head gasket, valve seals, valve guides, ect) i might as well put in some new injectors. Keep in mind I do have the stock fuel system minus a B and M fuel regulator with the injector pulse width tuned with a v-afc.
1) Replace the fuel pump and upgrade the injectors?
2) Just uprade the fuel pump?
3) Will Lucas 310cc injectors work on a factory GSR fuel rail?
My guess is that if i upgrade the injectors it will put further strain on my fuel pump.
And if I upgrade my fuel pump I can run higher fuel pressures right?
4) Are there any downsides to running high fuel pressures on stock injectors?

With your setup, you should be fine with just the B&M and some OBD-2 Prelude injectors. An upgraded pump shouldn't be necessary. BTW, what fuel pressure are you currently running?

Re: Ugrading my fuel pump why not injectors while I'm at it? (Padawan)
the first time it was set at 52 psi. I got it re-tuned again after i fixed my throttle body. Thing is when they tuned it the second time they tuned it without the o-ring for the map sensor so it was running extremely rich. After about 2 months it started running like **** and burning oil. I did a leak down everything was good around 90+ in all four cylinders. I did a compression check everything good. So i was like wtf why is it burning oil? So i am thinking either the valve guides or valve seals. Even weirder is the last time a changed my oil it stopped buring oil. When my car gets back from getting painted i am either going to tune it then redo the head or redo the head then re-tune. What guys think?
I think i going into more technical vs all motor. Moderators move my thread if you feel it is nesessary.

Here is an article by Hondata on fuel pumps and what happens when you raise fuel pressure. An OE pump can successfully push OE psi thru bigger injectors with no problems. The pump's efficiency dropped as the psi was turned up. http://www.hondata.com/techfuelpump.html
