R&D costs alot of money. Its easy to come along and copy another companys work and sell it. This company is probably making more proffit on these cams than their origonal designer.

Re: (crixzc)
someone else posted a UGR cam question a while ago, and no one was interested. either HT doesn't want to buy copies...yeah right!!! or it's because of the name...of course...or they need a dyno chart??!!?! What do you need dyno charts to pick a cam for when you've seen one cam make tons of power with one engine but poor power output with another engine.
as long as UGR's budget went into a quality constructed camshaft, that's what counts IMO. the original manufactures hopefully did their homework already.

Re: (Mike K)
Got the jun III copies in today. Along with a set of the toda style gears. They all look real good. Def appear to be jun III's!
I am going to be installing them this weekend. (just so u know im ditching some GE gears for these toda copies)
Keep in mind this is all visual inspection, no hardness testing, or mic'ing etc. But I am confident right now they will do just fine.

Re: (blu3g)
ok cams and gears are in. The Toda style gears are much sturdier than the other gears i was using. They also seem to be of better fit and finish than my old adjustables. I not gonna say which they where but I will say that they were a prominent name and i have been very displeased with most features of these gears.
My only beef with the UGRs is they are a lil tougher for a rookie to figure out the markings but I have no probs. (same as the todas would be).
Cams are in valve lash has been set, the car was goign to be running today but i was missing a few of the round seals for the valve cover going to pick some up at honda village tommorrow, then it will be on the road.
If the cams are making the power they should it will be leaner on my wideband than the previous cams i was running, (crane stage II).
I will post tomm how everyting turns out once its running.

Re: (RedZone)
well.... ****.
Something is wrong, but I do not believe it is related to the cams or sprockets.
The motor is ticking loudly (valve i believe) It also smokes, I re-did the valve-lash and it seems to be all in spec. Smoking is less since i re-adjusted the valves but a lil smoke and a loud ticking none-the-less.
I dont know I could have bent a valve but it seems that I did I cant figure what else it woudl be. I'm gonna do a compression test and go from there. I dont know what else it could be.

yeah I am Effing pissed right now!! I cannot figure out why this happened, I dont think any foreign objects coulda got in there and I dont have another explanation right now.
On a side note the car actually idles smoother and the exhaust note sounds healthier than with the Crane II's I had in there. (which is why i went with these ones, smaller primaries.) That is, despite the valve tapping like hell (or so it seems.)

Re: (RedZone)
No i don't believe it is.
Correct me if im wrong but a lil valve noise would not over power my radio at a normal volume with my windows up
Checked and RECHECKED the lash too.
