ok first off just pay a shop, no offence but it seems that you dont have to much experence wrenching, also auto to man conversions are somewhat involved. Just get a jdm b18c "gsr" automatic obd 1 motor and bolt it right in and stay auto. it will be the least confusing swap you can do and it is a direct swap, you will only need to run a few wires and a cable or two to complete it.

if this is not what your looking to do than here are some links to help you

auto to manual

So you're going to be doing the swap in October? If so, you have plenty of time to start your research...and I do emphasize on the "search" part. There's a ton of useful info in the archives. Or just skimming through the discussion that goes on in the All Motor forum every day will make you pretty knowledgeable.

And by goals, we generally mean performance goals for the car since that's what pertains to this discussion. With a 3,000-dollar budget, I'd recommend a GS-R (b18c) swap....but I'm not a fan of auto-to-manual conversions. Unless your heart is set on the car you have now, I'd look into finding another 5-speed roller to make your life easier. But again, that's just what I would do.

So keep reading, and good luck with your swap.

Im an Apprentice at a Shop, And i Have Unlimited Access to the Resources in it. But I dont live Near it, Thats why im waiting till fall till i can afford another car and a swap. That way if its in the shop for a month It wont matter.

Our shop Does lots of Buisness At Team Auto and they are overy Helpful. They are probbly who im going to get the Swap From, I just know there are alot of things Im probbly going To miss when buying the swap so i want to know as much about what im buying and how to install it.

Now for Power Im thinkin im kinda At the Mercy of whatever will be less wires to cut to install a new motor.

I would just go with an LS, or B20 because it will be a daily beater and they are fairly cheap, and you can throw a few little aprts on the like I/H/E and have a little money left over to play with
