Rocket Motorsports M25
Hello,
it's very difficult to find info on those cams.
what are the BTDC, ABDC, BBDC, ATDC?
and if possible the difference of lobe in X and standard cams?
or just a pic with cam profile like this for example: the endyn cam
thanx,
I have only found that:
INTAKE lift - 12.1 mm, duration 270 @ 1mm
EXHAUST lift - 12.1 mm, duration 270 @ 1mm
I don't want the specs of the M25E cams. lift too agressive for my set-up: valves too small.
if you know a set-up with those cams or a dynosheet, I will be happy too!

Re: Rocket Motorsports M25
I had them, I loved them. Way bigger than the Pro3s. Made 40hp more in the midrande and 16hp more on top in my big 2l. I suggest to use it only in very serious setup over 2l.
edit: degree them to 100, 109 lobe center.

Re: Rocket Motorsports M25
How much lift did they have over the Pro3's?How much more duration @.050 and .100 than the Pro'S? Was the 40 more BHP on the primarys ore Vtec lobes?

Re: Rocket Motorsports M25
I replaced tuner3s with m25 back then. 40hp was @6000, right before VTEC. Reason is the Tuner3s has basically stock primarys. Lift is not important over 12mm IMO, duration rules.

All Duration @ .050
M24xx Intake .472/262 Exhaust .472/262
M25xx Intake .472/270 Exhaust .472/270
S.Cam Intake .462/276 Exhaust .462/276
Pro2 Intake .493/258 Exhaust .458/265
Pro3 Intake .500/270 Exhaust .470/273
Lets all remember that cams are more than lift and duration.

Re: Rocket Motorsports M25
Well lets just take look at the valve events for the Pro2 cams.
Intake
Opening:31° BTDC
Peak Lift: 99° ATDC
Closing: 46° ABDC
Exhaust:
Opening: 58° BBDC
Peak Lift: 106° BTDC
Closing:25° ATDC
Intake Duration: 31+180+46 = 257
Exhaust Duration: 58+180+25 = 263
Duration at .050 as listed by Skunk2
Intake: 258
Exhaust: 265
Well that's just my take on things. I personally go by valve events because I didnt have a means to check on the engine.
FYI if you check duration by valve events with RM cams they are dead on to what they are advertised as, Unlike most cam manufacturers.

Re: Rocket Motorsports M25
i think what koczeka is trying to say : is that he personally measured alot of cams including the whole skunk2 lineup , and they are far from what skunk2 advertise it to be ..
its interesting that alot of people make good power with the Pro3 , and they SEEM to be a pretty big cam , but if koczeka's measuring is correct , they are not too scary

Re: Rocket Motorsports M25
I know he has. I was just adding to the thread not disputing his findings. The problem is there is no set standard on how cams are measure and advertised. Some companies advertise at .050", some at 1mm (0.039") and then comes S2 and they advertise at 0.004". Which would make their (S2) seems ALOT bigger than others.

We measure them the same way, I do not care what anybody else think... TODAs, BC, OEM and a few others like m25 match the "advertised" spec, skunks never.
I now, a few numbers does not mean too much (sorry I have no tool yet to draw full graphs), but when U see 2 cams with max lift, 1mm AND 10mm duration numbers... U can have a basic idea.
This thread is about m25, I had them, I loved them, I know its way bigger then anything else I have hold in my hands (including P3).

all skunk2 and other cam companies seem to have more lift than rocket's . any reasoning to this ?

Re: Rocket Motorsports M25
Duration is bigger.. also the ramp speed / angle are all different as well, just because a cam doesn't have alot of lift doesn't mean its not a SERIOUS valvelift profile.

Quote from ALL MOTOR (dd-tech/derek) in the supercam thread (https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...hp?t=2960385):
duration @ .050
buddyclub4 257 259
m22 260 264
pro2 260 267
skunk2 tuner 3's 260 269
buddyclub5 262 271
m24 269 279
pro3 269 275
m25 275 270
Supercams 278 277
Bigger isn't always better.. there's more to making power with cams then lift and duration. Those measurements are what my grinder took from his machine. Those are also on a profile sheet i recieved from DonF and rocket.
the lift is roughly .520 something int exh is like .480ish or something like that.. i dont have the exact specs infront but its something around there give or take. (supercams this is)
hope it's OK that i quoted this.

Re: Rocket Motorsports M25
Do you have any experiance with RM Cams?
Alot of smart people think that lift over 12 mm isnt all that hott. Even when Brad/Rlz had cams out they didnt have much lift but had tons of duration.

Re: Rocket Motorsports M25
yea I'm not bashing anybody's products. jus curious. if a race port flows hypothetically , 290 cfm at .472 lift , and then 300 cfm at .500 lift , wouldnt u want to increase the lift to .500 instead of leaving it at .472 ? ( comparing the m25 and pro3 from above )
