Default Piston's Piston's Piston's...helpp mee.

I have a jdm itr motor with skunk stage 2 cams. I think i'm overcammed, and in need of higher compression to get the full effect of my cams. I have some CTR piston's in my room, but i've been hearing bad stuff about them, and people been telling me i don't need that high of a dome piston. Any help would be great. Like i sai di just need to boost my compression up. Also does anyone know if i slap a 1 layer head gasket on my set-up now, if i'll have enough clearance, and no valve slap?? TIA

if you have 93 octane where you live, i think the ctr slugs might be fine. sGt might have some good info for you but i'm not sure how frequent he visits h-t anymore

Just be safe and get a 2-layer head-gasket and you'll be good. Skunk2 says anything over 11:1 compression will be good for the s2s2's, and correct me if I'm wrong but a stock JDM ITR motor with a 2-layer gasket will put out roughly 12:1 compression. Your stock compression is already 11.6:1...

Also it's not all the compression, but the tuning that will make your cams "shine". Good luck!

Stock compression is 11:1. With a 2-layer Headgasket it will only put me at 11:2

I starting reading about the p30's, and i read that i'm gonna have to modify the rod's, and the block. Is this true???

your compression is ok. get better chip ecu & vfac or hondata & get it tune.Good luck cuz those cams are hard *** hell to tune. u need major good air flow & good fuel management & a lot of tunning to make those cams run right in your motor.i had sk2 s2 b4 & it ain't nothing nice trying to make them run right. That's why i opt to go with the oem CTR cams & still make good power to the wheels plus its ez to tune
