my setup only making 165whp?why?
just wondering if my whp sounds right for my setup.
jdm gsr b18c
bored to 82mm
u.s. itr pistons
gsr stock head
01 itr cams
sk2 pro intake manifold
rs*r headers
jdm jasma eg ehaust
sk2 pro series throttle body
aem short ram intake
the car only made 165whp, that sounds to low to me. i was hoping to hit 180whp.
the car was dynoed on the dyno jet.

yea sounds like it's around the 13 area wot.
What shop did u go to. B/c some dyno's read low some high the true test will be at the track comparing ur et and mph on the best clean pass vs ur old best et and mph. Dyno's are tuning tools if u mph and et reflect or et and mph then u can start to chase a problem down. Also if u do go to the track get ur car weighed with u in it. The reason y u can take ur weight/et/mph and convert it to ur whp as an estimate to see if u car makes more power at the track vs the dyno which it should make more power going down the strip vs a shop with no fresh moving air.

im wondering if anyone else has a similar setup, and what they got. cuz i was disappointed a little. i see some people with itr motors with just bolt-ons making near the 200 mark.

Dont be bummed out about numbers. h23V pretty much nailed it. You cant compare numbers with someone elses dyno too many variables. If the engine is healthy compression etc. Take it to the track for a real indication on how much power you are making.

ya i would open that exhaust up some .. do you have the dyno sheet and all ?? can you post it up so we can take a look at it . what shop was it tunned at ?

was urs an itr? cuz my is a jdm gsr,. but it still doesnt make sense to me. i figured i should pretty much have an itr motor or a little higher cuz of the gsr head. f**k man im so disappointed. my car makes b16 power. people have told me that i should get the itr headers with the itr 2.5 ehaust. but i dont see my power jumping from 165 to 180-190 just with that. im kind of pissed cuz tunning isnt cheap, and to get these kind of results at the end makes me feel like spending all this money for speed really insnt worth it.

Yeah, it's unusual to see your HP and torque drop that early. Usually HP stays up there till 8K. Yours starts to drop at 7K and really takes a dive at 8K.

the motor seems fine, im just wondering whats wrong, is it the tuner ,or motor, i really dont think the motor is the problem, the leak down came out perfect. the tuner told me that the vss code kept coming up when he tried to redline the motor to 85k, and since the code kept coming up, vtec wouldnt hit. but iv never had a problem with the speed sensor, and even now i drive the car and i dont get any code.

I don't think it is completely the header and exhaust.
With GSR cams a DC Sports header and Comptech exhaust I made 175/131 STD on a DynoJet. Something else is holding you back.
I have USDM ITR pistons in my GSR block, the head was completely stock GSR, and I was still running the GSR manifold, unported.
What is your duty cycle on you injectors? I am assuming they are still stock.

with that drop off im wondering if that motor actually have type r cams looks like b16 cams or gsr cams from the sheet op are you sure it has type r cams

even if it was b16 or gsr cams it wouldnt drop like that ... that is a steep drop ... what is your motors timing set at ... did your set the cam timing and all that ? how dose the motor feel when your driving can you feel a sudden lose of power in the upper rpms ?
is the ecu showing any other codes? maybe knock sensor ?

same thing to me, i have 11:5 c/r gsr motor, b16 head with performer x. megan racing headers, dumped exhaust after resonator. full 13.0 at WOT I only walked out with 174/128 and all i did was correct the afrs.
I'm at 28-29* of ignition up top at WOT, i increased by 2* and lost a few ponies so i backed it off.
