Re: My 95 Integra slowly but surely LSVTEC build
so here i am now 2 years later i got a b18b longblock from a donor integra with about 200xxxkm on the clock and started the tear down for a better engine for this guy , the goal at the time was to build a non vtec turbo manual

started this thread a little late. engine is pretty much all built up now and decided to not go turbo and build an ls vtec instead! pickup up a 91 sir head for 300 $ and sent it for a nice clean and rebuilt it myself with some supertech double valve springs

Re: My 95 Integra slowly but surely LSVTEC build
i get everything pretty much for nothing since im a parts guy in quebec, and everything i need is really not expensif, that helps alot when building a project like this

Nice work my man. Wish I had the garage space to tear into my k24a1. Keep with updates, I love seeing the work.

openned the tranny ! everything checked out until i got to closing it back up , noticed i had a huge crack at the top countershaft bearing.
so , put that away and started looking at what else i need to finish and ordered some tranny bolts and a mount.
by the way the tranny i bought is a SIR non lsd. picked it up for 460$ about an hour away from were i stay.

Why did you decide not to turbo and go LS vtec N.A instead? Plan to turbo the LSV later on?

Re: My 95 Integra slowly but surely LSVTEC build
definately not, changed idea cause it would be wayyyyyyy to expensif.
if i was going to boost it i would have boosted it in all the right ways no cheap ****.
already into this build im more than 4000$ passed and im kinda getting tired of surprises ahaha.
alot of guys here in quebec have these same setups but theyre junkyard pickup swaps so doing it right means youre beating a whole bunch of **** piles at the track ahhaaa

So.
having some problems again
without timing belt, crank turns freely no restriction,,. as soon as i install the timing belt it turns over REALLY BADLY
like stuck bad...
going to have a look at the cam rails, i think maybe the problem is that i overtorqued them.
hate when this kind of s*** happens but what can i do, at least the tranny is back from the shop and looking purdy

I like the tuna here
Re: My 95 Integra slowly but surely LSVTEC build
When I first built my LSVTEC I had something similar happen to me, once the timing belt was installed it was really difficult to turn over by hand, to the point where I was wondering if I had piston/valve contact. I didn't clay the engine before torquing the head down because I was just using crower 402 cams and P73 pistons, I figured I wouldn't need to. Long story short, it turned out fine, it could have been the seat pressure of the valves or something, but I didn't really do anything about it and it's in the car and has been running like a raped ape for the last year or so.
I'm not saying you DON'T have a problem though, I don't know how hard your crank is to rotate vs mine. But mine was pretty tough.

still going to have to look around to see what the problem is hopefully going to be able to run this build by the end of summer

Re: My 95 Integra slowly but surely LSVTEC build
What Pistons and rods did you use? Just stock pr4 or did you run a higher comp piston? What about cams? btw that block paint actually looks kinda gangster lol

Re: My 95 Integra slowly but surely LSVTEC build
just stock everything, redid the bearings and rings.
for now im going to be running stock SIR cams and in the futur maybe some type rs or skunk 2 the crossover is insaanneeeeee

That's cool. I'd like to know the numbers when you get them! I bet that b16 tranny will make it rip hard. Currently building me an lsv setup right now too.

Re: My 95 Integra slowly but surely LSVTEC build
SOO. stripped the beast this weekend
installed hood pins cause the hood was fluttering as soon as you hit 160km-h and having the hood open up is not that fun.
intalled rear splitter
and front mugen replica lip!
the car is soooo light now and it really helps the tranny with the slipping issue
cant wait to get the new engine and swap this thing stick , hopefully this month!
