Default Motor Build Question.

I am having trouble deciding on what cams I should use for my build.

The build consists of:

ITR head milled .020
Supertech Valve Springs/Retainers
Stock valves
70mm Throttle Body
3" SRI
Toda rep header
2.5-3" Catback
81.5mm B18c1
PR3 Pistons
ARP Head studs
ARP Rod Bolts

I am deciding whether I need to deck block for a little more compression or just buy a Buddy Club head gasket and gain a bit.

According to the compression calculator, my build with oem head gasket and only the .020 mill job should be around 11.6:1 compression. If I use the 2 layer head gasket I should be around 11.9:1 compression. I'm not sure if decking the block is a good idea unless it actually needs it to get a good seal. I was trying to get 12:1 compression to help the cams out. Now on to that.

Everything I read on the cams Im looking at I find something else to contradict it. People are making good power with Blox B/C/2 and I'm also looking at Pro 1/2 and S2S2. My goal is 1/4 mile, car will be on the street but not that much. Would the Skunk2 Stage 3 or Pro 2 be too much cam for this build? Cam selection is where I get confused. I am on a budget so I would like to get this right the first time and if the Blox cams work well, I would like to consider them to help my budget out. The power goal I was looking to achieve is the 210-220whp range. The more the better but I was thinking 220whp would be the most I could get out of a 1.8L.

It seems that the Skunk2 Stage 2 vs. Pro series cams is a big debate. Also see mixed reviews on Blox cams. I don't want to under cam my build for sure but at the same time at what point am I over camming, the head is just a stock ITR head so no aftermarket port/polish.

looks like you'll be fine with the skunk2 pro3 cams, but I think you should've also upgraded the connecting rods to be safe. You can also send an email to the skunk2 company and ask them if it'll be fine, and they'll reply in one or two days

And this is your final answer,
seems like alot of cam for that application in my book, but maybe I'm wrong.
