Max rev, and gearing question
It's probably that im thinking about this too much but i just had a thought. I would like to redline at 9k rpms, but is it possible to max out a gear before you even hit a rev limiter? and vise versa, redline before you max out a gear?
If im really messed up then please help me out. sorry! haha.

What do you mean "max out a gear"? The only thing stopping you from going faster in each gear is the rev limiter and the fact that power drops off.
LoL I think I know what you mean... if this is analagous to a mountain bike. Like, you can't only pedal so fast before a certain gear stops being useful.
I'd assume that you won't have to worry about that with revving to 9k, but there's really even no point to rev that high unless your powerband calls for it.

The gear stops being useful because you can't pedal any faster. The answer to your question is yes, I guess you can "max out" a gear. For example if your engine reved to 15k but stopped making power at 8k (like the mountain bike), it would be useless reving it that high. But if the engine made power all the way up to 15k, then no, the gear would still be useful and not "maxed out".
