Yeah, I did that and it is like 13.6. So either I am going to sell the pistons I have or get a thicker head gasket. The smart thing would probally be to sell the pistons.
1 step forward=2 steps back, at least when you don't research enough.

Don't feel bad, i originally planned for 11.5:1 CR, but cause of excessive milling and decking, im at around 12:1 maybe a little higher. Thank God for custom headgaskets.

After a lot of trying and checking, i just can't get the squirters to not hit something...either the crank or the skirt of the piston. But i am danmed determined to keep them. I am goin to have my machinest notch the skirts of the pistons so they have room to clear. I'll keep you guys posted on the progress. Other than that, the bottom end is complete. At the same time i take the block to the machine shop, i am sending the head/ IM/ TB to all be port matched and polished. Then it's on to final assembly.

Good luck on your build, just completed mine last night, but i chose to use the Golden Eagle oil squirter plug kit, I hope it don't bite me in the *** later.

What are the stats on your build (piston/rods/cams and etc...). After going through the thread there were so many different opinions thrown around? How did you fix the piston to valve clearance?

p2v clearance was solved, the valves weren't installed at the correct height, got that fixed and p2v clearances were good.

So far so good, got a street tune last night, took it to 8500 rpm a few times on the way home. Motor didn't blow, so I think i didn't cook anything yet. But i'll let you know once i put some more miles on it.

Naw, haven't had a chance to hit the dyno yet, just started the Master's Program and working full time also, it'll be close to a typical lsvtec. Im not looking for peak HP either since its a D.D. I like the low and mid range power of the BC3, and the throttle response does feel better than before the crank swap

Re: (Golden Eagle)
yeah, so far i've put on about 300 miles since the rebuild. And im talking driving hard, 8500 rpm in 1st through 4th consistantly. I changed the oil 3 times and no metal shavings on the MFactory magnetic drain plug or on the vtec screen. Im pretty sure if blocking off the oil squirters is detramental to the motor, something bad would have happened by now. to G.E. block off kit

Update: i talked to my machinist and he told me to notch the pistons. So i am in the process of tearing the motor back down to cut reliefs in the skirts for the squirters. I did one last night, and it really doesn't take that much off the skirt. I'll post up pics when i get them all done.

if you do that you need to be sure that they all weigh the same after your done or have them rebalanced. to me its a wast of time when you can just block off the oil squirts you don't need and be done with it. i would say 90 percent of the b18c motors we build for our customers have them removed by customer request and they get better oil perisher and have no problems. oil squirts are a wast of time on built block with forged pistons

I'm not running forged pistons, i am running oem b16 pistons. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Re: (9t4fodo)
Ls rods have piston oilling holes on the big end of the rod. Since your using them in a gsr you would have double the piston oilling if you keep the squirters.
Plug them up.
