Default Install Pistons on Rods?

Is there a right and wrong way to install the pistons on the rods. I know there is an arrow on the piston when installing them in the block but does it matter which way the shop I take them too installs them on the rods?

Thanks

The notches for the bearing tangs of the rod should be on same side as the exhaust valve reliefs on the pistons.

Edit: I don't pay attention often. The tangs are on the exhaust side.

Guru's, why is it preferable to have the tang's on the exhaust side?
