Ignition timing
I have a 94 civic ex with the stock 1.5L engine i have some mods but i want to advance my ignition timing .. how do i do that and what do i set it to to peek performance to give me some more juice. can you help me
u have to turn the distributor.....I'm not sure which way, but I've seen it covered a few times on this site.
*Search works wonders*
But it's a good idea to get a timing light, so its not adjusted too far, and to prevent the pistons from mashing the valves.

You should do some searching yourself before giving people bad information.
If ignition timing is advanced too far you could create some high scylinder pressures without much power gain gain. You wont make the pistons come in contact with the valves.

umm if you want to get technical, depending on what cams you're using, and head millage, the valves could very well mash the pistons, depending on timing.
my response was more or less a vague incentive to check the dizzy timing before moving. you won't see any power gains really from the timing, unless a dyno and aftermarket ecu tuning is involved.
i mean i think thats right, hold on let me do some homework.....

Yes cam timing but not ignition timing. Ignition timting has no effect on the sync between the valves and the pistons.
