Fuel Pressure question. AEM & LS/VTEC
I live in GA and we have the joys of having to pass emissions tests prior to registering our cars. I just bought a 94 ls 4 door w/ an built/balanced 11.5:1 ls block and stock GSR Head. The previous owner said he had been able to pass emissions by backing the fuel pressure down to 35psi (via AEM regulator and yes, there is a guage).
This seems pretty low to me and I'm wondering peoples thoughts on backing the pressure down that low. Too lean?
I've also heard differing opinions as to how to adjust fuel pressure--some say idling and taking off vac line (but pinching it closed) and others say it doesn't matter. Any thoughts? Searching yields mixed results, so I'm not sure why I'm asking again, but I hope to get a consensus.
This isn't of huge importance because as long as I pass, I'll pull right back over to the house and reset the pressure to where it is now (the car has been tuned by a very reputable shop/tuner)
Thanks.
