Suggestions request: B18C1 Daily Driven 12.0:1CR Camshaft Options
I'm building a motor for a car that'll be driven fairly regularly (4-5 days a week)
* B18c block
* manley 81.5mm 12.5:1 cr pistons (actual cr is 12.0:1)
* Manley rods
* port and polished B16a head
* skunk2 ultra Street with 70mm tb
* plm tri y headers
* Hondata s300
I have just about everything I need ready and am looking for some cams to suit my build. I currently have skunk2 tuner 1 cams but was wondering if it'd be worth upgrading them too, was potentially thinking pro 1's as i heard you could safely run them on tuner springs

Big compression, slicked out head and a big intake manifold and throttle body. I would say you are under cammed.

That's what I thought. Bought the tuner 1s a couple years ago for a different purpose but never ended up using them. I've been thinking pro1s since I'd heard you could safely use the alpha series springs with them and I already have a set of alpha springs and retainers. But was just posting here to get other peoples opinions

How about tuner stage 3 cams. These are great when you cruise because primarys are relatively small and you get good MPG, but then the vtec profile is big for some power. With stage 3 cams you should pay attention to P2V and V2V clearances.

I was looking at the tuner stage 3s. But Id like something with larger primaries to get some midrange torque. Just not exactly sure what cams would go with this build

When I was considering a build similar to this for my GSR, the tuners/builders I spoke to all agreed that the Skunk 2 Pro 1 cam would be ideal for that kind of set up. If I recall correctly, they have bigger primary lobes to increase mid range, along with bigger VTEC lobes for the top end. Check into that, or other cams that have similar profiles if it fits what you're looking for.

Pro2 cams would likely work very well with your build. Especially if you're using 98 RON which may give you more opportunities to optimize timing events.
As mentioned above, with whatever cams you get make sure you clay the engine and check your P2V clearances. V2V should be fine unless you're on oversized valves or completely mis-timed, but never hurts to double check.
GSC N2 cams may be an interesting/good choice. I haven't seen many results from those but they've always intrigued me, I've wanted an opportunity to use them for awhile but haven't been able to.

I have a set of cams i made for myself that may work. Its a midrange cam that will go well with your build i think. Im probably gonna try em on a high comp 84mm build with a victor x manifold and E85. The specs are:
260°/252° @.050 and 12mm lift. I otherwise would advice blox hsl, blox c, Crower 402-2 or 403-2. I also have some nice midrange cams desgined for road race that are very aggressive but arent sold anymore. They are cat cams camshafts.
