Default delsol B16A2 1595cc 250whp

Hi Mates,

to illustrate the all/motor chapter of my book "The Horsepower Secret" which is published this spring, I made the totally modified B16A2 on my delsol that I present.

date of purchase:

the delsol and the phoenix (the 4WD civic), the life in blue color

full stock engine with cat, 300,000kms (190,000miles)

and now, ready to change!

the car will be with:
custom camshafts
custom girdle
custom CNC head
custom slide throttle body with stand off injection
custom exhaust, of course
electrical power steering and water pump
dry sump
11500rpm

are you pulling vacuum from the pump? how many vanes? how much vacuum if so? is the goal 250whp? 1600cc will be retained or going bigger using B16A block? if staying 1600cc you'd need to rev to a good 13KRPM to probably reach that HP goal givent eh 1.6 torque...

good luck regardless

thanx
Yes, I'm pulling the vacuum, four vanes on the dry sump and two with valve on the rear of the block with a "T" plugged on the 4 first.
I keep 1595cc, no more.
you're right for the 13000rpm but I made a cheap custom stand-off injection on slide throttle and the power is better with a good tune.

first start with that:

I will show everything here and it's explained in detail in the book "The Horsepower Secret" for everyone does this at home

More power to you.

In for the most expensive 250whp motor ever built.

this is I wanna try to do. and not expensive because I'm doing it in the garden and in the kitchen. this is an example to show that you can do the same with the book like help.

First of all, we must make a solid bottom end.

GSR block girdle is nice but not enough

ERL 5 is better but not enough
Spoon-blade is fun but not enough (and TOO expensive!)

RPM-Blade by Soxle is right.

When your helper is done, I could use some help at my place!
Good luck on reaching your goal.
Curious to see how many rpms it takes to make 250whp.

I love the block girdle? Do they make these for B18C?

PyroProblem:

StreetRacinThug: read well my thread, I make all my parts (like the two LSD on the civic AWSD)
I explain all in the book "The Horsepower Secret"
after, you can do it yourself. I used B18C girdles then it can fit with a B18 block.

next post: the head
see you

the helper is one of the "Red Stig Girls" ('cause my stig is red)

do you want pics of the others? but it's not with Honda cars, it's with my 1937 Soxle Oswald.

What filter are you using for those slide valves? Im building an intake box for some itbs im making and need one similar in sized. So far a 93 (?) Chevy blazer s10 4.3v6 appears to be the right size.

Awesome project. The girdle looks incredible

(In clarksons voice)

Haha i had to...your helpers are awesome

thank you all!

I use H22 water plugs.

two ways for the head.
combustion chamber (with came profile)
runners

I drew slide throttle at the good size for the rpm goal and the power target and after

with the stand-of injection (before throttle)
2 fuel ramps: one before for the full power in WOT and one in a classic use.

I think GSR head is better than type R head because the runners are straigher but we can do better

you're seeing the black straight line?

for those wondering what I use to edit resin ducts, it is for readers of the book. because all resins are not equal, contrary to what some manufacturers may claim and a resin piece that starts in the ducts, it means ... or those that are supposed to keep the essence and disintegrate ...

we can see the difference between the original gasket and the home-made gasket: two inches compared to a type R cylinder head

welding head:

from the desired CR and the place I must do to my custom camshafts, I have to completely change the combustion chamber.

modeling of a B16B piston:

modeling of a forged Mahle piston. each one has its advantages and disadvantages

It Is Necessary to heat the cylinder head Before welding and cool Slowly after. Otherwise it will " snap " the metal who cools too Quickly
Moreover , It is Necessary to grind it with a dremel , and SEVERAL between each weld.
We Do Not Account our hours ......

last weld:

a clean deck to put the head on the CNC machine:

on the CNC machine:

simulations for not doing an error

and start:

**** just went to the next level!
Wow. Very nice work sir!
If you can share, What CR and chamber volume are you shooting for? (Too lazy to do the math)
The grooves in the head are intriguing. I'm trying to Imagine the a/f mixture swirling around the how the grooves affect it. I assume it for better mixture and more even distribution in the cylinder?

The dimpled valves and Intake ports are also very interesting. I forgot the theory behind it but kinda blew it off without more evidence. Endyn had an article about this I believe.
But then I saw the inside Of a Porsche 911 intake manifold and it had the same dimpling. So I know it does something beneficial.

Pyro: choose a CR depends of the good close (ABDC) of the intake camshaft. I choose 11 to 1 CR. I have a "small" ABDC (around 40°, very big, in fact, but my engine is not conventionnal)

An easy way to win more torque and power is an electrical power steering.
around 5hp at 8000rpm

this electrical pump is on ford, french trade cars, etc...

I bought a switch at your home because it doesn't exist on the EU market. power steering is necessary only on a park. the alternator would eat power with the pump in full-time.

with a 70A relay and a fuse (no pic)

in the place:

edit: perhaps I will put one on the civic AWSD. it's really effective. But I'm not sure this pump can be run with the necessary power of the 4WS.

From my understanding, it's like a golf ball. creates low pressure areas to speed the air over it.

Love the build by the way.

Finally sharing some of this info on HT? LOL

The Design that sol is sharing we've been knowing for awhile..Sol and I have had some discussions about it in previous months. its a new thing i think most are still up in the air with it but the theory behind it, its seriously proven.. it does the exact same thing as a golf ball.
