Default Crower H22 63422A-2 Cams?

Has anyone used the 63422A-2?

I was thinking Stock JDM H22A
Skunk 2 Intake manifold with Maxbore 66mm TB
Camp1320 Header

Would these be good cam choice? The Head will be ported in the future but not yet.

63422A-2 Features 63422-2 Stage 2 VTEC lobes with stock idle lobes for improved street performance.
Spring/Retainer Kit 84167 required.
Int- 311 mid
Exh-308 mid Int- 255 mid
Exh-248 mid Int- 468 mid
Exh-467 mid

Stock primary lobes make it sound like it should be a very streetable cam?

Ideas? Will be in a H2B EK.

I have them. Can't say I was at all impressed with the results - but there are always a lot of variables that go into these things.

To say they're streetable would be an understatement. You can drive around on an OEM ECU without it batting an eyelash at you.

So dont bother? If they are that little of an upgrade do they even need springs/retainers? What would be a better street cam for this engine?

you should upgrade atleast the valvesprings anytime you add lift with an h22 (unless you have a type S head). regardless of what people around the internet say.

Easy enough.

Good street cams?

Well I'm hardly a cam expert, but I don't think they're an incredibly mild cam. It's just when you're out of VTEC that they're mild/stock.

As to the numbers that I got out of them I wasn't hugely happy. But there are others around that have done better than me with CS2s or CS2-As. alphajesse has a dyno comparison up somewhere between stock and CS2-A.

What was your setup and what did you get for numbers?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. 98vtec has some CS2 numbers as well on a JDM H22. If Crower's claims about the VTEC lobe are to be believed, numbers in VTEC between the two cams should be the same.

My results.

Run-14: Cooldown with stock H22A4, plus a header, standard rectangle high flow cat, 2.5" exhaust.
Run-39/40: Immediate back to back cooldown runs. Above + AEM HAI and the CS2-As.

Take with grains of salt.

This is true, heh.

Every time I pull my valve cover I'm expecting the worst. Rocket's oil thread and the changes I've made because of it give me slight hope.
