couple of questions or ideas......
well iv had a couple of things going through my head lately, i dont know if its been done,i tried searching, and dont remember seeing anything related, again these are just questions ,..i am no engineer, nor fabricator but just looking for some insight to these 2 questions,
1. ive been seeing some pretty unconventional h series intake manifold set ups pop up , such as nah2b, and aslo the other racecarryan, top feeds, of coarse one is carbed, but has anyone tried that on say a b series? seems like nah2b has made really good power on this setup and again starting to see more pop up, would it benefit a bigger b series engine? would it hurt? if its been done can you please post info,nah2b, if any help ,please post...
also
2. is it possible to taper a 4 inch to 3 inch allum, intake pipe smoothly? or go bigger for any matter not just a 4 to 3 inch,i do know that yes there are couplings that do taper, ,but how woulld this flow with just pipe?i know that intake lenghth does play a huge factor in tuning, but what if you could add the larger opening and work that into the mix, , would it hurt power, make any difference, any benefit?? of coarse with a stack on the end, i remember seeing some scoop style headlights back in the day that were pretty huge at the opening, and then taper down to the tb, these were made out of some sort plastic?? would a pipe taper help out at all, with a stack or is this just dumb...
if it has been done, please help out,
again these are just some things that ive been thinkin of, if you have any insight or knowledge, or testing, please post up, thank you for your time, and my flamesuit is on,haha

I've actually found that str8 tuned length intakes with one size produce the most usable power.. thats just me i'm sure there's opinions on both sides.
Induction should be based upon the mark up of the motor.. how big, what cams, exhaust , header how well the head flows things that like need to be taken into consideration.. more setup information would be needed to actually go in depth.

Re: couple of questions or ideas......
i understand what your saying as far as the engine set up goes and tuning the pipe lenght and diameter to that engines specifics on the dyno, but at the track, would the bigger inlet on the intake help out on top maybe pick up some more mph, and also would the characteristics of flow made by the stack be hurt if the intake pipe did taper smoothly, say a 5 inch stack with 5 inch pipe to a 3 inch then to throttle body,if it can be done nicely with some fab work,
also when is the intake set up just overkill and how would you know would you see a drop in torque lower in the powerband, i know the dyno is just a tool to use, so would something like this have to be tested at the track under track conditions, also the wind conditions produced by a fan infront of dyno, how does that compare to the wind at the end of the track say speeding up from about 60mph to 110mph, again im no engineer nor fab guy, just curious, and wanted a lil more insight, thanks guys for any input
a local shop is having a dyno installed here this month, and i hope to be trying some of these intake setups on a bolt on h2b.... again thanks for any help guys
