Does anybody know what compression you get when replacing the b16b crank with the b18b1 crank? thanks

I believe mid to upper 12's which is supposed to make your engine a pinging beast on 91 octane but people do it over and over without detonation and are usually sucessful in a powerful build up. Some hondata, uber or even VAFC along with the obvious FPR, adj cam gears and most likely some 270+ cc injectors should leave you with a properly tuned very power OEM internal engine. This setup will put down better numbers than a OEM ITR setup.

it would be very close as with an ls/vtec since the ctr block shares same deckheight with a gsr/itr ... a diffence of aorund .009 vs b20/LS deck height.

Personally I'd just keep the ctr block as is and build an ls/vtec its much cheaper to find an ls block, install arp rod bolts and ctr pistons and sell the ctr block if you need the finance so someone else can put it to good use ... like me

I disagree with the above. I mean I see where you coming from but a the benefits of a CTR/LS far out weight a LS/V. Food for thought, I recently was planning on building an LS/V and bought a block for $65. SUPER CHEAP from a friend in good condition. Of course after pricing everything out it would cost me more to build the LS/V right than just throwing a LS crank in my CTR. The total cost of my LS/V build that was basically I dentical to my CTR setup was $3,950 parts and labor. My CTR setup was $3,600 plus a LS crank (already have it) but usually no more than $50 and finally labor ($150) or DIY for free. To build a LS/V correctly it takes some serious money. Unless your doing a budget setup and not touching the LS bottom end before installation its just not reasonable.

Sooo everyone is making this seem like a good thing....I have LS rods and Cranks that I got for free!!!(mint condition) I can run the stock CTR pistons, not have clearance issues and bassically have a B16B block with a some what close to a 1.9L stroke in it??? All I need to do is bend my squirters.
What more could you ask for

Vanity I was about to make this exact post with my b16b and an ls crank. I just bought a ls crank for $50 and was told to have the crank turned. Would I need to change anything else? i.e. rods. The guy above me mentioned bending the squirters is something that should be done is that correct? More info on this would be awsome. Thanks

its not that simple, the LS stock rod bolts are weak, suggest oyu upgrade them ...

If you have a complete CTR block sell it to someone who will put to good use. find a cheap LS block and build that, will be much cheaper.

good luck
