I'm starting the journey to build a p8r head.
I ordered b20a intake valves, I'm going to order b18b1 exhaust valves and integra GS valve stem seals.
I've been sitting on a set of aftermarket steel springs and retainers for an LS that I haven't been able to use since none of my LS builds get finished lol but I'm going to use them too.

Will update as I go...

Also I measured pr4/p75/p8r cams...p75 are the most aggressive, either out of b20z or b18b1

PR4 cams should actually be the same lift as the P75's but with 2° more duration on both lobes. Hard to measure unless you're in the process of degree'ing them and you happen to being doing both sets back-to back.

From Rocket Motorsports spec sheet:

Got mine back from machine shop
new valve stem seals too

waiting on some things before i install either on b20z2 or b20b block.
i know the compression drop bc of the chamber but i hope it will give my b20 a little more umph

Was bored at work and stumbled on this...answers in case anyone searches...

My built p8r head ended up on a 1.8 block.
It's been about 150 miles since this setup went in the car.
Runs strong. Aftermarket valvetrain is a little noisy.
Cammed. Would love to turn the revvs up more..still cleaning up the tune here and there.

I hope to, in the future use this head on phk piston b20 with cams. Fairly sure clearance is ok...max lift on anything 403 ish is 10.7

I can't remember for certain, I think you are safe with 403s and a P8R but that's about the limit.

Aftermarket pistons typically have valve pockets that are sized for the larger VTEC valves... especially forged ones. If you don't try to use the OE B20B/Z pistons, you won't have to fear v2p contact.

Yep. There are a few reasonable cams you can still get away with though.

Thanks
I used Nippon pr3 on another motor I assembled, but haven't ran it yet. It has c1 cams so I was never worried about clearance but I did hold them up to some stock pr3 and could tell they dug valve pockets a little further on the aftermarket.
I am considering using PHK piston to keep the price down, but we will see when the time comes. I have a set of p3f pistons sitting around that would be fairly painless to swap to. Since thats the piston that comes on the p8r headed b20, I know it's good as per clearance.

@spAdam - we'll see what happens (esp with funds) when I start teardown and reassembly. I can't decide. 260/260 or 272/260 both sound like good combo to me...esp if either combo will run on OEM ecu. Saves me from having to chip ecu...

Undecided if I boost or not as well. Would like to get it together and running first before deciding
