you dont just slap the b16 head on and thats it, you need to block a hole on the bottom of the head for the non vtec block then find another way to feed it oil (vtec conversion kit) other than that,
b20's stock redline is somewhere around 6k,vtec usually engages around 5700 with peak horsepower around 8k.if you rev your b20 bottomend on stock internals to 8k you will most likely spin a rod....will it be faster? ,yes. Will it last? i personally tried it twice, 1st time lasted 2 days 2nd time lasted 3months.....now i decided to build the bottom end, it currently has like 15k miles on it and still running strong

I have a b20 and I rev it to 8k daily and it dose fine... biggest issue is a tune. Make sure you have a tune and yes a b20 vtec will hold up, but any motor is going to go over time due to we beat on them and just not have they was designed. Yes b20 sleeves are week, but a good ideal is to add more fuel and play with timing to keep the sleeves cool. Wide band ect.. just tune it and run a b20 vtec invest in like a itr oil pump ect. man
