Default couple b20 vtec questions

i'm doing a b20b with b16a head. the first thing i bought were standard size main and rod bearings. did i mess up already? my friend told me that you buy the bearings right when you change them for they may not be a standard size... and i've heard that if you have bigger cams it'll hit the pistons. i plan on getting new higher comp. pistons, and also some bigger cams, will it still be a problem with the new pistons?

If you already have the eagle rods use them. I have eagle rods with ARP rod bolts and ARP headstuds. Then i bought wiseco 12:1 compression pistons with buddyclub stage 4 cams and i have no problems with piston to valve clearance. If you plan on buying a bigger cam then you have to upgrade the valve train so its gonna get expensive. Good luck
