If you are trying to build it to ITR specs, why didnt you just buy an ITR swap to begin with?

Agreed, if you are going to spend money it should be to make it better.

Use the search, there are many examples of JDM GSRs which are better (more hp and torque) than Type-Rs.

You could begin by maybe building the head.

dont buy ITR motor.. its all hype. its a waste of money.. its not that fast.. u can build a GSR and make it faster than a type R. i have a JDM GSR motor, all i did was upgraded ECU, skunk2 manifold, skunk2 stage1 cams, ITR tranny and the basic I,H,E.. now im walking all over type R'z all day.

I'd build up from an ITR instead of a GSR motor. The B18c5 is a really bad *** motor compared to the B18c...I'm not saying the B18c is grabage! I'm saying the c5 is a much better start.

When you upgrade a B18c your basically upgrading to ITR standards and up. ......B18c5 > B18c
JUST MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

his thread has some brilliant responses. type r and gsr are not very comparable anymore. all that is around these days is used motors. some are beat, others run great. generally the type r will be a bit stronger yes, but with a little bit of money and knowledge, each engine can be modified to run very strong. to the op, I suggest you invest a lot of time in researching.
