Default B18C(5) rod bolt torque?

The manual says to use a stretch gauge to set rod bolt(nut) torque.
Who here has bypassed the stretch gauge and used a normal torque wrench on their Type R engine?
What torque did you use and did the engine blow up?

The GRS rod bolt torque spec is 33ft.lb.

Mods: I did post this elsewhere on this site but am not getting any input, please remove if I'm breaking the rules.
