I ripped out my brothers Ls.
Opened valve cover and saw that 2 nuts had fell off the lifters.
Im wondering how many pounds to tighten them to and do i need a valve adjustment?>

If the nuts were on the rocker arm, you will DEFINITELY need to adjust the lash.

I mean, how would you think you wouldn't have to re-set the valve lash?

No offense, but if its not obvious to you that a valve adjustment will be necessary in your scenario, then you should have someone do it for you and show you along the way. It can be a bit tricky for the first timer who doesn't know what the right "feel" is on the feeler gauge. It can also be a headache trying to hold the screw in place while tightening the nut. I have a device I made for this. Its a 10mm deep socket welded to the open (circle) side of a combination wrench. The wrench is then bent up a bit to aid in clearing the protruding head components when tightening the nut.

Ill snap a pic for you later. Something like this will be necessary to properly set valve lash.

i have never done a valve adjustment. and i want mine done right cause its my motor
so ill take to shop or ask one of my buddies.

Oh yes...damn non-vtack heads. I was thinking it was 2mm off too, but I was leaning towards 8mm. Thank you for the clarification.
