true but hes been runing like that for two years now so idk. all i was trying to do was make a point power is in the head no matter if its k b h series and if my head flows good then it will make power pr4 head dnt flow as good as vtec but thats y its ported

I could "hog out" the ports of any head, make it "flow" 50% more air than stock and still have it make less power than a stock head. Again, flow, porting, head, can only do so much if the rest of the build doesn't support it. Engine builds are like a long chain, they're only as strong (or as good/powerful) as their weakest links, wherever that may be.

Re: b18a1 N/A 200whp?
even the b20 with the b16 head he states would seem very unrealistic to make 201whp.
I mean a b16 makes 160hp or 140whp stock with great r/s ratio,oem design and 10.2 comp.
if a 1.6 makes 140 with that head, how on earth does a 2lt thats bigger in dissplacement by 24% make 201whp especially with more then a full point of compression lost?
in stock form it would be 165whp at best IMO!
I doubt even with all the boltons in the world would a 8.8 b20b/b16 make more then 185whp using itr cams etc.

Re: b18a1 N/A 200whp?
there are alot of reasons that B20 makes decent power..........one of the biggest reasons is it has more displacement........and part of that is alot more stroke which helps torque.......and (tq x rpm)/5252=hp. yes head work matters but like others have said...........you put a badass head with other stock parts and it doesnt make much difference........its all a package. the trick to really getting performance out of an engine is picking parts and machine work that works well together......
for example: picking high lift, long duration cams............and a long, narrow tube header wont work as well together because the cams are designed for high rpm power and the header is designed for low rpm torque.
or if you have a top of the line VT and head work thats good up to 12,000rpm...........but a stock bottom end.......the engine will grenade before you get that high.........so it all has to work together.
and now you are changing your story.........earlier you said "its all in the head work"..........then you said "its all in the tune"

well yea its both but i was talking about my its all in his tune hes pushing 201 at 7500 rpms . but i get what your saying. but the only thing stock on my head is valves. its not like im going cheap. my bottom ends built as well so i dnt know why yall doubting me or my ls. whatever power it makes ill be happy cuz this is my first build im just hoping for so good hp and a healty motor

yes, but you really should degree the motor in if the head's been milled.

yes its been milled.004 thats all. i clayed it had no vtp problems. doing it agian cuz the cam gears are off alil when i put the pins in the cams. they told me go by the cam gears.
