Default B16 ITB's, coolant bypass hose question

I am building a b16 motor that has ITB's and would like to know if there is something I could do about this coolant hose "I believe its called the bypass hose" that is to the right of cylinder number 4 intake port it loops back to the T-stat housing IIRC, has anyone deleted it before? or would that cause issues? sorry for the dumb question but if someone could help me out that would be great.

Why do you want to delete it? Why not just keep it!

to keep it looking clean, the heater hoses are deleted just figured I would delete that guy as well if possible.

That brass fitting and the line attached to it is used to keep coolant flowing through the engine when the thermostat is closed. It is not used for the in car heater unit. It simply routes from that brass fitting to the fitting directly below it on behind the thermostat. You can plug the fitting that was used for the heater cor if you have removed that system. I have done the same. But I wouldn't suggest blocking off the bypass just for looks. It's not that your engine will overheat. However, it will definitely spend more time with the thermostat open and relying solely on it being open for cooling & flow.

By a foot of braided stainless steel heater hose. Cut it to length, with enough length that it doesn't kink/crush closed, loop the bypass and call it a day. That should keep it looking clean as well as keeping it cool.

I blocked it off on my b18c5... No issues whatsoever.

I know this is an old thread, but it came up while doing research & I thought I would add what I found. The instructions on a Hondata thermal intake gasket states that if this bypass is blocked, the thermostat may not open. It recommends drilling several holes around the circumference of the thermostat to allow heated water to reach the opening mechanism. I am considering blocking mine (full race car) as the Skunk2 intake manifold tees on its h2o flange, and I have to block the smaller port anyway. Plus, it kind of defeats the purpose of a heatshield gasket to have high temperature coolant flowing thru the intake manifold.

Just block it off and T the lower portion into the heater core line.

Here you go:

This is in an ef with a b18c5 swap.
I recently uninstalled my itb's in favor of a jrsc.

I'm still using the hondata intake manifold gasket in "race" configuration.
