Default anyone have jun II's? how do u like them? what valvetrain r u using?

im thinking about ditching my original plan(skunk 2 stage 1 cams with the skunk 2 valve train) now im thinking about getting the jun II's i was told i xcan pretty much use them with a stock itr val;ve train but id rather have a beefy valve train heres what im thinking i either want the jun II head package(cams, gears, springs, retainers) or junII cams jun gears, skunk 2 springs, retainers, and valves..what do u think would be a better setup in a b16? and why?

also if you haver the junII's how do u like them?

I have Jun II's with toda cam gears, portflow inners itr outers (valvesprings), and portflow ti retainers tin coated. They are great cams with alot of midrange between 6000-8000 rpm. Idle is like stock and everything is perfect. I've been running the cams for about 1000 miles so far. I'll post up my dyno graph of my gsr when I have some time...

These cams are pretty much comparable to Sk2 stg 1 or toda spec a, so it's pretty much your choice. Out of the 3 diff cams, they'll give you pretty much the same amout of hp, just find a good tuner. If I were you, I'd thrown in some ctr pistons and run Jun III cams. hehe

yea im gonna build my block this summer but for this winter id like to have the head built..do u think it would be wise to just get the jun III head package with my stock block?i know i wont be using the full potential of the cams because the b16 dosnt have high compression but would it be safe to get the III's and run them at stockish settings until i can afford to build the bottom end?

i dont want to get the II's and find out i wasted my money and should have just gotten the III's in the first place..if i have to ill drive the car untuned all summer(by untuned i dont mean all fuked up i mean everything set to stock)

Well what are your power goals and then decide from there what kind of cams that you want to go with??? You can run jun III on stock compression, but you won't be getting the full potential of the cams. If it was up to me I'd wait and do everything at once, but running the Jun III on stock compression you should be fine. Just be sure that everything is installed correctly (valve adjustment etc etc) and especially if you retain the stock rev limit there shouldn't be a problem until you build your bottom end and get it tuned.

i really dont have much for power goals...i guess someday id like to get 200whp out of my b16a i guess once i achieve that goal id be pretty happy power wise

i think im gonna run the junIII's until i can build my block this summer maybe next winter ill just have to run them at stock settings and try not to beat on my car too hard i think it would be the best thing because illeventually have to buy them again if i get skunk 2 stage 1's or junII's so might as well buy the III's now and have the head complete (i could always buy the junIII package and not install it until next winter thats always an option)

i just put a jun type II intake cam in my engine to complement by itr exhaust cam - sort of a combo that has been around for a while and supposedly gave pretty good mid range power - i dyno'ed before and after to show the difference between the itr and jun type II intake cam and the peak power was about the same but the jun type II intake cam gave 4-5 more hp and 3-4 more ft lbs all across the band - i will be posting my dynographs and giving a better explanation on mon/tues once i get some time

and yes i am running my jun type II on stock itr valvetrain

hell yea
my final decision on my head package goes as follows:
jun II cams
jun cam gears
skunk 2 retainers
skunk 2 valve springs
skunk 2 intake manifold
itr throttle body

i cant wait till spring
