$6000 210whp all motor recipies.
I was out the other night and overhead some people talking about their plans for 210whp... how do-able is this for $6000? just wondering what kind of numbers poeple can produce for this budget.

No labor charges?
I would like ot see a price list for even a 240whp build starting from scratch for under 6K.
It's all about what you have to start with and what you include in the budget.

Re: $6000 210whp all motor recipies. (jbell)
Ok I bought a 91 for $2100.00 with a b16 swap. The start. I then bought an ls block with gsr crank, type r rods, and type r pistons for $700.00 shipped off ebay. I bout some misc. parts to put the head on $200.00. Bought a digital 6 msd setup for like $400.00 and some other parts I now have $4200.00 into my car and it should be about 180-190 ish with a stock head. Put about $200.00 into the head and I should have 220-230whp. so thats $6000.00 for a complete car!!!!! With a great shop like redzone performance to help me do all this it is working out well.

No, a lot less actually. Jerry did all of the work himself and the parts were either free or at cost.

Jerry's 262 motor was worth 12k easy.
He has probably put over 30k under the hood of that civic in the last 3 years.

If you actually think you can spend 200 bux (legitimately) on your head and gain 40whp then you are out of mind.

Wow then IB are liars because they told me that jerrys head work alone cost 2500.00 from Alaniz. It must have been alot cheaper than that to fit everything else into that 6000.00 budjet.

I am with Travis on this one
To build a good motor its takes time and money. I have put so much into my car, and I am still not finished.

Same here, I don't even want to think of what I owe a certain someone and I am still not finished.
If you don't wan't to exceed 6K for the build you should start with a budget of like 4.5K.

im sure he meant 2000, since he was just talking about 4200 that he has in the car, and after the 2000 that would be 6000, although you wont get near 40 HP for 2 grand, lol

Re: $6000 210whp all motor recipies. (SoCalude98)
I'm friends with Jerry...so I know he did the work himself. However, the value of parts on his motor alone is not under $6K.
Just because Jerry can get great prices/hookups on parts doesn't mean you can simply tell this guy that you can make 262whp with a $6K budget. That's very misleading and this is how many out there think that going fast is cheap.
That's like me stealing every part I need and saying I made x amount of power for free.
