Default Somewhat complex electrical issue

I was driving the other day and the radio/CD player started cutting out intermittently and when it did so the the airbag light would flash on the dash (at the same time) and it would do this every 60 sec or so. I replaced the battery and it alleviated the issue for a couple hours but then the symptoms came back.

I turned off all the electronics and the car was fine and I was able to make it to my destination. Shortly thereafter I replaced the alternator and the issue was fine for a few days. Then just last night after driving 6 hours it started doing it again. Any thoughts on what the issue could be?

Here's a helpful link about the SRS light but it doesn't include the issue about the radio

Sounds like you have a hefty parasitic draw from something. When cars get low on volatage they kind of freak out like yours is. Do you have an aftermarket SatNav unit or subwoofers?

Nope, nothing aftermarket. I've got a Garmin GPS but that's about it.

Try swapping your radio for a known good unit. It'd be an easy way to rule whether or not your radio is an issue.

He already replaced his alternator. Given it's a possibility he got a bad one, but it's unlikely. You have a point about his grounds though.

I had similar problems to this guy so I just replaced one of my grounds and I've got the rest of the grounds on back order...I'll keep you posted.

Clean all the ground terminals on the engine harness and the dash harness with a wire brush (remove the bolt first). Has the car ever been in an accident? Repair techs sometimes forget to tighten the bolts for ground terminals.

Just did all the engine grounds, still having the issue or or less. The radio was replaced a long time ago under warranty, is it possible to get a diagram of the under dash ground locations?

Sounds like you need an ETM (Electrical Troubleshooting Manual). Factory Honda/Acura manuals are available direct from the publisher (Helm) at www.helminc.com.

The ETM has the circuit diagrams for the whole vehicle, plus pictures of all the modules and connectors. Extremely handy.
