I am trying to hook up a RSX Type-S Tranny to a TSX. Does anyone know of anyone doing this? or does anyone know of anyone that would be able to do this. Im thinking about swapping my transmissions i currently have a 5AT but want to do a sex change. Thanks.

first off, why did u buy the 5AT? 6spd is golden and less headache... TypeS tranny swap will give you long gears

He said he currently has the 5AT, like, the one that came with his car when he bought it.

He's asking for help with the type S swap.

Not worth it IMO. Unless you get the parts for super cheap or even better free. For the amount of time and money you will spend you might as well sell yours and get a 6-speed.

na i no a guy here in nc with a ek hatch with a k24 motor, and k20 head with a k20 6 speed trans and hes using hasport mounts as well

Anyways, i dont see why not.. but then again, i dont kno too much about K's since i got out the Honda game when K's came out..
Buy a Type-s tranny and let us kno how it works out

yes, a type s tranny will bolt up and you can use hasport mounts as well, i no a guy near me who did it, it works do it

ya well we are not rich... and i didnt mean any bimmer, i was talking about something like going to a 330i to a F50...

if i was rich, i would go to an Austin Martin OR a Maserati (which is Ferrari's lil sister) to a Ferrari...

guys this thread shud be over, a type s tranny will fit a k24 block, period, ive seen it done with my own to eyes, ive test driven it as well, it works even with hasport mounts- lets move on...

like ^^ said above, it's possible but it's going to cost you around 3k in parts and labor.

better off trading your car in for a 6mt.

once you do that and if you still want the rsx tranny, you can just swap out the 1-4th syncs.

guy on acurazine has done this and &lt;3's it

Maybe the guy got the car handed down to him? Maybe at the time he didn't know how to drive MT?

And if you were rich, why would you settle for an aston martin or maserati? Why wouldn't you get maserati's big sister?

What are you talking about? There are two Austin Martin dealers within 30 miles of me. I guess you dont live in socal.

And if i had the money, id trade my bmw in for a ferrari.

yes a rsx-s trans will bolt up to a k24 block, but im pretty sure that it wont go into the tsx, i thought the tsx trans has a different case and has different mount points, thats why nobody uses tsx trans when they put a k24 in civic/tegs

i could be wrong though

iv looked into this, yes the k20 trans will bolt to a k24 block, people do it everyday when they put a k24 into there civic/teg

but no it the k20 trans will not mount into a tsx, the trans cases are different, and there are no mounts available to put this trans in the car, an there never will be, if you want a manual trans swap, just get a tsx 6spd trans


if you want the tighter gears of the k20, just swapped the gears between the k20 trans and the k24 trans, but you must use a k24 trans case
