Question About Primary O2 Heater Circuit
I have a 2004 TSX and a check engine light for P0135 (O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1)). I am 99.99% sure I have a bad O2 sensor. Being a wide band, I just wanted to cross it by someone else before swapping it out. From what I have read online, the heating circuit on an O2 sensor typically has a resistance of somewhere between 2 and 11 Ω's. When I check across mine I have an open. I am sure that is the problem and that I have a break in my heating coil in the sensor. However, I just wanted to ask if anyone knew if there was some type of contact inside this sensor which opens when no power applied, or if anyone else has seen this same issue and the problem ended up being something else? Just figured I'd ask before shelling out the cash for a new one.

Re: Question About Primary O2 Heater Circuit
I doubt there is a contact to open. The O2 heater circuit just turns on with the ignition. Try backprobing the sensor and turn the key on. See if there is voltage/current flow.

Re: Question About Primary O2 Heater Circuit
I hooked my ammeter up through the O2 heating circuit last night and turned the key on. Kind of as I was expecting, there was no current draw through the circuit. So that pretty much answers my question.
