understanding j32a2 j32a1 j30a1 engine and swaps and upgrading....tl, cl, accord
Amazingly, there is virtually no information regarding these on h-t or the web.
A few basic questions:
If I were to get a non type s cl or tl, what is needed to make the j32a1 225hp engine produce closer hp numbers to that of its big brother, the j32a2 making 260hp?
Next, lets take the 01 accord v6 engine. The j30a1, 200hp. How do we get more hp out of it? Can we install the tl type s' cams? Intake manifold?
All this hp upgrading without getting into the rods/pistons is preferred. Thing is, I'm considering the v6 accord, cl, or tl

Seriously...look at the title...lol. "Other Honda/Acura" models...i mean ****, the TSX got its OWN FORUM ROOM. The CL-S, TL-S, TL and all the SUV's i'd say are just as popular if not more so than the TSX, but i guess because its got a 4cyl. Its different. Anyways, this room sucks because people know where to go for legitmate information on those cars. This room could be good though if we didnt have idiots with Passports coming in here asking where to get a chrome intake for their truck that has 22's on it...hahaha...

Ok heres what I know 1998-02 accord j30a1 bore and stroke 3.39x3.39 compression ratio 9.4:1.The 2003-05 accord j30a2 is also 3.39x3.39 with a compression ratio of 10.0:1.The acura cl base engine j32 bore and stroke is 3.50x3.39 and the c.r. is 9.8:1.Last but not least is the cl type s with the same bore and stroke as the base engine but the c.r. is 10.5:1.As far as interchangable parts your guess is as good as mine.

the trans on my base 2000 TL started slippin so since I had to change the trans I figure I'll do a full Type S swap on engine & trans
bought the type S engine & trans mad **** is different, engine bolts down differently on bottom & mad **** needed to be changed....just gave up brought anutha trans to fix mine & now I got a
2000 Type S engine & trans with 40k collectin dust

I never would imagine the swap would be that involved. Seems like just a head swap like any other honda engine would be enough. Head, cams, ecu and done! Guess not.

doesn't comptech make superchargers for the 3.0 and 3.2 type-s engines? im sure you you get some good numbers out of that, along with their headers and a decent intake and exhaust. i have heard that the auto tranny from the accords sucks up alot of power, though (assuming it holds up). hope this helped.
