j series black smoke normal?
j35 2005 RL with short ram intake
my buddy said Its puffing black smoke when I accelerate
is it normal that its running rich or something I should be concerned with and need to fix?
no blue smoke just black
and I belive it might be running slightly lean in low throttle but not sure

Re: j series black smoke normal?
i adjusted the valve clearance
changed air filter
checked spark plugs ( they look like were changed recently by previous owner)
fixed oil leaks.
car doesnt burn oil just leaks from rear main seal
autel shop scanner doesnt show any codes misfires or o2 sensor faults at all since i owned it
battery is new,
transmission fluid is new
good brakes rotated and balanced wheels
im suspecting maybe a bad injector
but if it was bad wouldnt it show up as misfire?
and if either of the oem widebands were reading wrong it would also show up as misfire?
