One of my friends thats not into cars had a neighbor install a headunit yesterday, stupid kid did a half assed job. My friend realised at night that his dash lights didn't come on and i told him his running lights probably werent on either, and they werent.

I went and looked at the car last night, the power wire was grounding out (sparking) behind the dashboard, the wire to the dimmer was exposed, half of the wires were just shoved into butt conectors, partially exposed, wouldnt doubt that they were grounding too.

I have a civic, so the running lights/dash lights/radio/cig lighter are all on one fuse, i saw that tl has two, 1 on each side of the dash, radio/cig lighter and interior lights, neither were blown. Still no dash lights or running lights. I pulled the radio fuse out so nothing would get power, the last thing this kid needs is a car fire. Soooo all i can think of is that maybe the dimmers fried?
