1997 Acura RL New Air Conditioner Install
This is my first post and was hoping for an opinion on my new ac. My original ac compressor screamed for vengeance a few weeks ago and my compressor seized. I proceeded to replace: ac compressor, ac compressor orings (there was greasy build up at sm and lg connections), ac compressor belt, altenator belt (since I was there), ac dryer, and condenser. Prior to installing the new parts, I flushed each line individually. I then pulled a vacuum for 1 hour and held a -29 pressure for 2 hours checking for leaks. I then installed 2 cans of 12 oz 134 refrigerant; pressure was only around 30 psi on the low side, so I added 1 more can. The high pressure switch tripped and the compressor started quick cycling. I bled some out, it stopped quick cycling but I don't know exactly where I am on freon charge, guessing around 26 to 30. The recommended spec is 24.7oz to 26.5oz. I have no bubbles in the site glass. The air is blowing fairly cold but not real cold (it was 90 degrees today in ATL). Here are my pressures with the car running: low 32 to 33; high 250 to 275 when reved up. Pressures with car off: low 50; high 175. I am not sure if I should just let it be or try to bleed more off or add more in order to obtain a higher reading on the low side. The r134 temp pressure guide sheet that came with the new gauge set calls for low side pressure of 45-55psi and high side 250-270. The high side seems fine but the low side seems a bit low. Any thoughts? Thanks
